Just for starters, you might like to take a look at this, where you might be able to access some records:
.
'FamilySearch' "Wiki"
Channel Islands (including Jersey and Guernsey) Online Genealogy Records

Hi Lynda,
My family comes from Jersey, CI. and I found a lot in "The Island Wiki" ... https://www.theislandwiki.org
Then there is a 2nd avenue for the Jersey Archives...https://www.jerseyheritage.org
And then there is a 3rd avenue of CIFHS (Channel Island Family History Society) ...https://jerseyfamilyhistory.org
Or last of all, you could pay some to look for you,, from the CIFHS.
Most of the records are in French - and OLD (latin) French too! 😳 .
I did most of my research in Island wiki, and then paid for someone in CIFHS to check it all for me & find more older relatives too.
Just incase we are related.. My names in Jersey are...
Gilbert, Le Lievre, Noel, Marcouf, Le Masurier, Dubost, Summers, Giot, Guillmin,
Good luck!
Best Regards
Narelle

We did some research about 20 yrs ago when we were in St Helier so I am sure there is more online now than back then
So lots of things to check into
may join Jersey heritage & see what I can find there
Thanks again

BTW - the "right group" is probably "British Isles Family History Research", although the responses you receive through posting here prove you still made a good decision!

Will check there as well
Hard to know as some relatives were in the UK/France/Channel Islands

We in The British Isles Family History Research would welcome discussions in that group, especially if anyone has expertise or experience they are able to share. You're welcome any time!
