More information on Temple changes for taking names to the Temple

We will be meeting with our Ward Cuncil this Sunday. One of the questions that will no dowbt come up will be about submiytting and taking names to the Tem[le. We understand there is a new method and we will not be able to print names. Where can I find more information on how this will work?

@Staley, Anjeannette You'll probably find all you need in this article: https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/updates-to-temple-ordinance-reservations/

It helps some. Would like to know more. Signed up for more help on it. when available. As Stake Temple and Family History Consultants we try to stay a head of questions that might be asked. For instance, what about older individuals who do not use Iphone and still only have a home phone? Can card still be printed by them?

@Staley, Anjeannette they will still be able to print their cards at home! This option just allows them to print at the temple if they need to!

I am confused. Where does it say we won't be able to print cards. One of the articles cited above is titled An Easier Way to Print Temple Names. We don't have to print them, but that isn't the same as not being able to print. Or did I miss something??

You are correct @CynthiaVanDam CynthiaVanDam . You will still be able to print cards, the new changes just make it easier to get them printed at the temple if you are unable to print them at home.

Ordinances Ready is a part of the FamilySearch web site when you click on your "Ordinancess" tab you will see Ordinances Ready listed.

Yes, I see that - I have re-read everything from the article and I am okay. Getting ready for the meeting and preparing myself. Thanks for all the help. Sorry for my confusion, It was something someone at church had said and it just didn't sound right at the time. I'll make sure they understand.

    Thanks again everyone.

The confusion may have come from a discussion about whether the printed cards are returned at the temple. Many temples are not giving the cards back after ordinances are done, apparently as part of a pilot project to see how it effects efficiency and accuracy. So we still print them, but it seems best to only print the ordinance that you are planning to do right away.
