Comunes in Frosinone province with the Ricci surname
Greetings,
I am looking to find the ancestral town for my ancestors which have the Ricci surname and I'm curious if anyone knows any comunes in the province of Frosinone where this surname is common. I've confirmed that my Great Grandfather, Gioacchino Ricci was born in Isola Del Liri, Frosinone in Sept 1883 as well as his brother Domenico in Dec 1875.
However in searching through all of the records for Isola Del Liri at the Antenati website, I only found a handful of people with the Ricci surname from 1809 to 1863. One birth, two deaths and zero marriages in 54 years which is very strange. Family oral history is that my Great Grandfather's family had a lot of children, possibly more than a dozen. This has lead me to theorize that his parents (Ferdinando and Flavia) were born elsewhere and later migrated to Isola Del Liri. I understand that they may have been from another province entirely, but I figured that Frosinone would be a good place to start.
If anyone has any thoughts on other comunes in Frosinone that might be a good place to look, please let me know. And I don't mind something a bit vague...I need more practice reading through Nati, Morti and Matrimoni records to increase my skills at reading old Italian documents.

Here on the community website on the right-had side, you will see a number of links. Select the Indettaglio Surname Search
Choose the Latium Region and type the name. There are many towns and villages with the surname Ricci. Good luck.

The only way that I see viable, beyond that of consulting the microfilm / microfiches already present on family search, is to resort to the diocesan archive that is a member of the SAN (National Archival Service), and which covers the entire diocese of Frosinone , Veroli and Ferentino,

A patient search in the documents could lead to follow the events of each person from birth, baptism and then all events related to faith, therefore: first communion confirmation, marriage, birth of children, death and burial -
I repeat that even with the help of digitized documents it is a long and patient job

Thank you very much for the information. The surname maps are extremely interesting. It looks like Rome has the greatest concentration of the Ricci surname and there is some family oral history about relatives being from there but as I'm learning a lot of our oral history was not terribly accurate.
Since I will need to wait until our local Family Search center reopens to see the post 1863 records for Isola Del Liri I was hoping to do more research in the mean time. This will help me a lot, so thank you again.
