Are you wondering how to record information about this child in your tree? Or?

      .

They can be included in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" with MULTIPLE Parents, where the particular "Parent-Child" Relationship is indicated (ie. Biological; or, Adoptive; or, Step; or, Foster; or; Guardianship).

      .

In other words an individual/person (including a Child) can have any number of Parents - just as, an individual/person (Adult) can have any number of Spouses (ie. Partners, if not married).

      .

For a Child, IF, the "Biological" Parents are NOT known; THEN, that is fine, just have the "Foster" Parents recorded; but, make sure that you have the "Parent-Child" Relationship as "Foster" (or, whatever the situation may be: ie. Adoptive; or, Step; or; Guardianship).

      .

For a Child, you DO NOT have to have the "Biological" Parents if they are NOT known - anyway, you can ONLY include what you know.

      .

Here are a few "Knowledge Articles" in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch":

      .

How do I specify biological, step, adopted, and foster relationships in Family Tree?

      https://www.familysearch.org/help/salesforce/viewArticle?urlname=Adding-Changing-and-Deleting-Relationship-Types-between-Parents-and-Children&lang=en

      .

How do I add step, adopted, and foster parents to a child in Family Tree?

      https://www.familysearch.org/help/salesforce/viewArticle?urlname=Linking-a-child-to-multiple-sets-of-parents&lang=en_US

      .

How do I add step, adopted, and foster children to parents in Family Tree?

      https://www.familysearch.org/help/salesforce/viewArticle?urlname=Adding-additional-parents-to-a-child&lang=en_US

      .

      I hope this helps.

I don't have real parents. Can I seal her to the parents who have her on the record? She is listed as foster child with name. Thanks for answering.

Thanks for all your help. I have printed it out to keep. (Now how to file all my info so I can find it when I need it.) Or get smarter on the computer. I'm at that awkward age of 85.😄

      .

      Short Answer: 'Yes'.

      .

Here is a "Knowledge Article" in "FamilySearch"

      .

Policies for sealing deceased children to deceased parents

      https://www.familysearch.org/help/salesforce/viewArticle?urlname=Policies-for-sealing-deceased-children-to-deceased-parents&lang=en

      .

      Where it states:

      Quote

      ------------------

A deceased child is usually sealed to birth or adoptive parents. Where justification exists, deceased children may also be sealed to stepparents, foster parents, or grandparents. A deceased child can also be sealed to a couple who intended to adopt the child but could not complete the adoption before the death of the child

      ------------------

      .

      I hope that helps.

I was raised in a foster home until I was 14 and then I went and back and lived with my foster family. Both sets of parents are found in my tree. After all four of them passed away I was sealed to both sets.

I wanted to answer this question with "Love them!"

I am glad that you want to include foster children in your tree. This does show love!
