On no Ive broken the rules !! Upload was restricted
Sooo I got this email.
Thank you for using FamilySearch to share and preserve your family memories. We’re writing to let you know that a recent Memory (such as a photo, document, or story) you submitted to FamilySearch has not been accepted, because it is not in accordance with one or more of the site's guidelines.
You can see the restricted item by clicking the following link:
https://familysearch.org/photos/artifacts/210484800
I think ??? that the issue is that the document came from Ancestry and it has a link in it. As I read the rules it seems to say I cant have links in it. Do you think that is the issue? Or it could be " War, hunting, and fishing photos will be evaluated individually."
I am going to re-upload without this hoping that this is the problem. I mean its just a document. But I do think it is a fascinating as Evelyn, a distant relative was part of the Land Army I think as a first aid provider.
As a tip to those AI or humans looking at these photos it would be nice to know what the infraction is so we can easily correct it. Just a thought.
Regards
PS I have Uploaded a new picture without the web address at the bottom. We shall see if I get Red carded again 🙄

Good morning Colin: It appears you may have stumbled upon Rule # 4 FamilySearch Upload Guidelines and Policies. I recently learned from a colleague
@AnneLoForteWillson "If the URL links to a record that will source information about this persons, it can be added as a source on the record in Family Tree which will allow users to go to the actual record to find this information. For Newspapers.com you can share interesting stories that you find using the links to your public clippings. These links can be used when creating sources."
Also a new thing I learned recently is the link you provided Https://familysearch.org/photos/artifacts/210484800
Can only be seen by the submitter once the item has been rejected. So we are not able to see the actual rejection.
Hope this helped.

Thank you for the confirmation. Frankly its more the sin of omission. I'm not sure I put the link in the document on purpose, but then would not have eliminated it if I had seen it. You live and learn.
In particularly what threw me off was that I posted this document some time ago. 6 months a year don't remember. It may catch people off guard. I had moved on in my research, I had to find the original again and make adjustments. Hopefully the new upload will not offence the Image police. 🤤
Thanks for your response.

@ColinM0288 you can also reply to the email saying that the submission was rejected and ask exactly what the infraction is. The first rejection is with AI, but an actual human will respond to your request.

Oh well thank you for that I'm so use to the standard "Dont reply I'm a bot" that I just assume this. Thanks.

Yes, having a link in a memory is not allowed. I am not entirely sure why. You can add a link to a third party record when creating a source.
Also copying an image from another site may be in breach of copyright rules.
As commented, the initial review of uploaded memories is AI based. By replying to the rejection email, a human will review it and either approve it or explain why it was blocked.

Thanks for your comments.
I suppose the image from another site is the rule …
"They should not infringe on intellectual property rights."
Becasue I cant see any other rule that fits on that. Now there are of course legalities, but this rule in particular is a bit frustrating because what it does is keeps the pay sites in business as differnt family members may have to keep paying for the same image over and over and over again. The images are important as sometimes the info is miss interpreted and you really need the original to see if there are other possiblities, or things that may not be listed in the summaries of poeple eg Occupation. Where you are trying to compare or sort out people who have similar facts.
Anyway thats the way things are. Like so many things these days.
