    Photo Glitch in Memories Tab

    AmberML1
    AmberML1 ✭✭✭
    January 9 editado February 5 em Social Groups

    @GFre has posted:

    Today I noticed that photos from the memories tab are being squished into thin columns instead of the usual large square. Some are very tiny, others are a little more visible. This is affecting up to my 2nd great-grandparents and some of their children, and even distant cousins; however, I have found a few affected people that aren't related to me. I'm using Firefox, and refreshing and/or logging out has had no effect.

    Here's an example of what it's doing:

      I'm having trouble replicating this. But I will definitely share with the Engineers.

      When I open up a Memories tab in Safari or in Chrome, I can BRIEFLY see what you are talking about—slim lines instead of square images—but then it quickly resolves into the squares.

      Please let me know if this is still a problem for you on Firefox. Thanks!

      @AmberML1 Yes, this is still happening for me, even on Chrome. Some profiles consistently give me no issues viewing their photos, so I don't think it's my internet. Also, I found one profile that was much older that's doing this, so this is a widespread bug for me:

      I should note that the photos are still clickable, although it's kind of tricky with that first one I sent—such a small area to select! It opens fine after that, it's just viewing them on the memory tab that's the problem. That profile is here, if that helps, too: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/memories/GNRZ-JJS

      @AmberML1, I've also come across a couple people whose photos just will not load for me. It flashes two rows of grays columns, as you had described, but then nothing shows up. Here's one affected like that:

      It shows there's a photo (1), of the headstone, if I recall, but nothing will load for me. Here's a link to that person: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/memories/G4LZ-C52

      @GFre @Dennis J Yancey @Lars van Ravenzwaaij

      Thanks everyone for sharing. I've added this to our Known Issues. And I'll make sure to get some answers from the Engineers.

      For me, people's memories consistently display as normal or always bugged now. Is that the case for you? Also, I also saw the glitch on your linked photo. Is this one glitched for you too?

      Yep on your link I see it too as glitched.

      And for me it's also consistently normal or glitched.

      @GFre @Lars van Ravenzwaaij

      Regarding the Memory image appearing "slim," the Engineers have a fix in place. It might take a day or two longer before this fix becomes apparent, but very soon the images should appear "normal."

      Thanks everyone for the the feedback!

      Yes, this continues to remain a problem. I'm so sorry for the inconvience. FamilySearch Engineers continue to work on resolving this issue. We ask for patience.

      But thank you for letting us know the problem is becoming more wide-spread. Thanks for the feedback!
