Adjacency and alternation in the Name field
I expected this product to be far from perfect, but it is much better than expected! I have already found new relationships in heretofore unindexed 18th century documents.
What I wish that I had is a more advanced search tool, specifically an adjacency operator and support for alternation, e.g.:
Keyword: "Richmond County"
Name: (chs|chas|charles) ADJ (beasley|beazley|beagley|beagles)
Place: Richmond County, Virginia, United States [the standardized form]
We cannot insert a wild card character within quotation marks, so the ADJ operator and alternation would be the next best thing. This would greatly reduce the number of searches launched to produce the same result.
The quoted keyword is necessary because I want to find "Richmond County" rather than ("Richmond" OR "County").
