What kind of baker is a Weizbecker?
Entry 62 15 April 1610. I am reading the father's profession to be 'Weiyzbecker', 'Wëysbecker' or something like that in this 1610 baptismal record in Strasbourg, Alsace, but can't find it in the dictionary. He is cited as a baker in other records and later as a flour merchant. And do you read the godparent's father as Hans Cahyar Meiger or Hans Casper Meiger? Thanks!

Re: Weizbecker/Weisbäcker: Bakers used to be classified by either raw material or product. A Weißbäcker (white (loaf) baker) would make white bread, possibly a Weizbäcker would bake using primarily Weizen, i.e. wheat.

I read the occupation here as Weißbek[er] who used to bake white bread based on wheat (and yeast), in contrast to the Schwarzbäcker who produced bread (mainly) based on rye and sourdough.
I read the first godparent as Hans Sibenhorn and the name of Katharina's husband as Hans Caspar Meiger.
