Require Help with transcribing
I am researching the Schmeulgen Family in Golzheim. Currently tracking down marriages. Can someone explain why the name Catharina Schmeulgen appears in this marriage entry of 1751? Thank you for your help. Much appreciated. The marriage I am trying to interpret is for 1751 7th of January. I tried to post a photo but received an error message regards permission.
The entry is on the right hand side left column first from top. Thank you :)

The sentence regarding Catharina Schmeulgen is in the 3 February marriage of Peter Vogel and Maria Catharina Hamecke. The sentence says
" Peter Vogel had been married 17 years with Catharina Schmeulgen in Bauweiler".

I wonder why there is a large empty space between "17" and "fuit"? Is something missing there?

Maybe the scribe left space for the date of the previous marriage or date of her death and then forgot or couldn't find it? But I'm not sure either date would fit well where the gap is in the sentence structure.

Could it be that the "17" is the start of the year 17xx when Peter was married the first time (which the scribe didn't know at that time)? The sentence would then be:
Petrus Vogel anno 17xx … fuit copulatus cum Catharina Schmeulgen in Bauweiler.
Peter Vogel was married in the year 17xx to Catharina Schmeulgen in Bauweiler.0 -
Thank you everyone for the help. I will look for the previous marriage in that case :)
