I was watching the Center Chatter meeting last night and a Brother said he heard from FamilySearch employees that the monthly report was no longer needed. Before the answer, I lost connection to the meeting. When I got back in, the Brother was on his next question. Just my luck! Can you tell me what the answer is please? Thanks so much for all of your help! I love the Tech Support & Center Chatter meetings!

    I believe he said Stake Run FamilySearch Centers DO have to complete monthly reports. Only the large, regional FamilySearch centers no longer complete the monthly reports.

    @Cheryl Barnhurst @Tomie K. Avant

    Thanks, Cheryl - this question was also addressed over in the Temple & Family History Consultants group you linked to above. It was me asking the question last night (assuming you were in the Pacific Time Zone meeting). Elder Richins stated what Tomie said above - only the large regional FSCs are exempt from submitting monthly reports. Their stats are actually collected electronically via the computers. All of the rest of us 6000+ FSCs still need to be sending in our monthly reports.

    Personally, I'm glad that's the case. Last night would have only shown that we had a few people in our Center if they went on what the computers reported. We had perhaps 20 people (several youth leaders and a group of YM and YW from one of the wards), but only a few of the kids or adults actually signed into their accounts. So that would have simply shown about six people in the Center doing about two hours of research, instead of about 20 people all highly involved.

    The Operations Guide doesn't mention it any more

    I personally hope Elder Richins was correct in his statement that almost all of us still should be sending reports, despite a deletion from the Operations Guide for the same reason as my 2nd paragraph in my previous response to this question. If they base replacement computers on computer-generated statistics, we could end up being seen as having far fewer FSC users in any given month than is actually the case. For example, a recent event in our FSC " would have only shown that we had a few people in our Center if they
    went on what the computers reported as usage. We had perhaps 20 people (several youth leaders and a group of YM and YW from one of the wards), but only a few of the kids or adults actually signed into their accounts. So that would have simply shown about six people in the Center doing about two hours of research, instead of about 20 people all highly involved." And we often have multiple family members gathered around one computer, yet only signed in as one account.

    I wouldn't mind doing away with our sign-in list and not having to compile stats at the end of each month, but only if it did not impact the number of computers in a future swap-out of new computers for outdated ones.

    https://fhcprofile.familysearchsupport.org/monthly_report

    I've saved it in my favorites bar on my browser so I always have it available.
