Locate birth/baptism record - John/Johann Schneider, b. 10 Sep 1871, Hesse

Hello,

I'm conducting research on behalf of a fellow church member. I'm having some trouble finding the birth/baptism record for John/Johann Schneider, despite having information on him and his parents.

He died in Belleville, Illinois on 21 Sep 1954 and resided in O'Fallon, Illinois, most of his life. His Belleville News-Democrat 22 Sep 1954 obituary says he was born on 10 Sep 1871 in Hesse(n), Germany to Blazius Schneider and Gertrude Traut (sp?), both of Germany. He came to the US at age 19. His obituary says he was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers (names not listed). His wife was Frederica Schneider nee Neukirch. They were married in Belleville on 13 Jan 1892. She died on 2 Jan 1922.

I've search through Family Search and Ancestry but I haven't yet been able to locate John's birth/baptism record. Would welcome any suggestions!

I think the person you're looking for may be this Johann Ferdinand Schneider, born 10 September 1871 at Herbstein, Lauterbach, Hesse. Here is the link: https://www.familysearch.org/ark%3A/61903/1%3A1%3A6CYS-DTT6

I found him through his sister Maria Elisabetha Schneider, familysearch ID-no. KKMT-96M. She has been researched very well on familysearch already.
