All Memories from public person not visible in Group Tree
I have 11 memories on my public page, when I created our Family Group tree, all 11 were visible on my group person. I invited my wife, she accepted and clicked the this is me selection. She has 63 memories, only 3 of those are visible to her or me/the group.
I thought all the memories from your Public Family Tree came across to your group person? We looked the memories on her Public page, none were marked private. One on my public page was private, as soon as I changed it to private to the group it was visible. On further inspection we noticed that the 3 memories that were visible on her Group person were all contributed by me. Not sure why that would matter.
What do I need to do different?

My sister created a group and her memories carried across the the group tree. I was invited my very few memories on living people did not automatically carry to the new people created in the tree. I tested adding one of the memories to a living person in the group tree. I had to go to my gallery click on the item, click on "Tag People" and choose the ID of the new living person in the group family tree. After messing around for a little bit I found a more efficient way; go to the new living person click "add memory", choose document, choose from gallery, and click on multiple memories to add at a time.

You are both correct. One person creates the tree and copies individuals (and their attached memories) into the tree all the memories come in. When someone is invited to the tree and accepts that profile created for them in the tree, it doesn't automatically copy all of that person's attached memories from their own profile. There are two ways to get all of those memories into the Family Group Tree.
- You can copy JUST YOURSELF into the tree and then merge with the already created profile. This would copy all the links to all the memories you already have on your profile and then merge those with the ones already attached to the new Family Group Tree profile that the original tree creator copied from his own tree.
- You can (as @JodiStoddard figured out) go to your profile and work through your memories tagging each of them to your new profile in the Family Group Tree.
I would suggest that you check even those links which you copied, because the way you tag in Memories has changed and now allows for Memories to have "Limited Access" to specific Family Groups. (Not just Public or Private!!!) You may want to change the access for many of the memories you have copied over to the Family Group Tree profiles.

@AnneLoForteWillson where should expect the re-homed Memories to be visible? On my personal Family Search account feed or do they appear somewhere relative to the group?

@AnneLoForteWillson Can you please explain the process of the following. I am not completely sure I understand how to do the following:
- You can copy JUST YOURSELF into the tree and then merge with the already created profile. This would copy all the links to all the memories you already have on your profile and then merge those with the ones already attached to the new Family Group Tree profile that the original tree creator copied from his own tree.

Wow, this is SO difficult!! I just uploaded and tagged my daughter in 16 photos, only to find out that I uploaded them to the WRONG profile.. so NONE of them show up in the Family Group. Just wasted at least an hour...doing it all wrong. I am too discouraged to go on just now!!! Maybe some other day... I would rather go do something FUN!!

Hi Anne,
I'm going to try to explain this, noting that I am also new to Family Groups.
First you need to access your Family Group Tree. If you are in your private FamilySearch Tree, you can change quickly to a Family Group Tree by clicking on the following dropdown in the 2nd menu bar:
Next, you need to go to the Family Group Tree "Details" window. There are multiple ways to access this. If you are in the Family Group Tree you should see a Tree Details button on the left near the top of the tree window (I just noticed this 🙂. Another way is to click on your profile name in the top right-hand corner of the window (assuming you are logged into FamilySearch) and select "Family Groups" followed by clicking on the desired group.
Once you are in the desired family group, in the bottom right-hand corner (may need to scroll down) you should see the following button: COPY FROM MY TREE
After clicking on this button you will see a new window: "Select Who to Copy into the Group". At the bottom of this window is a button: SELECT PEOPLE. Clicking on this button will show you your personal tree where you can select those "Living" records you want copied to the "Family Group". To select someone click on the checkbox under their name & birth year. You can expand and contract the tree by using the arrows shown: left "<", right ">", up "^", etc., to see living ancestors, siblings, or posterity.
Once you have selected those you want copied, click button COPY TO GROUP. This will copy these "Living" persons to the family group. Next, click on button CONTINUE TO PEDIGREE to see your family group tree. You will note that all the "ID" codes for persons included in the family group start with "G" making them unique from those records in your FamilySearch "Private tree" connected to the "Public Tree".
Now that you have copied your living records to the family group tree, you will likely have duplicates, including yourself. These records can now be merged similar to the merging process performed in the FamilySearch tree. In this way the memories you have attached (linked) to your living persons should now be included in the family group for everyone in the group to see.
Note: when adding Memories in the future, it appears the tagging process will be a little different. If you want new memories tagged to records in your "Private Tree" in FamilySearch and records in your Family Groups Tree, you will need to tag the memory multiple times, once for your FamilySearch private tree and once for each Family Group tree where this person may exist.
There was a presentation in RootsTech a few days ago discussing some of this here.
I hope this helps!

@Kristina Kuhn , you don't actually upload photos to a profile. You upload them to your Gallery and then tag them to a profile. When you are on a profile and upload the photo those two things occur at the same time so it is easy to get deceived as to what is going on.
In other words, those 16 photos are safely in your Gallery waiting for you to place additional tags. The first comment on this post by @JodiStoddard explains the best way to do this
Go to the correct profile for your daughter. The one you wanted to add the photos to. Click on her Memories tab then click Add Memories and then choose File:
This opens a pop up:
Click Your Gallery to open your Gallery:
Click on the check mark in the upper right corner of the thumbnails to turn it blue. You can check off as many as you want. Then click Import and they will all be tagged to your daughter's profile. it will probably take you less than a minute.

If this actually works I may have to give you a "long distance" giant hug!.. I am off to try this now...

Well.. it "almost" worked. I am still having problems. I have been able to add photos, however, when I click on the empty silhouette to choose a photo to have as "her" photo in the family tree view... None of those pics in her "memories" tab show up as a choice, to use as her photo. Am I explaining that good enough? It is so hard to describe the problem...
so I want to choose the first photo, for example, on the left.
I click on the silhouette, so I can do that..
so here you can see I only have the two choices, the ones "without" the locked access in bottom right corner.
I have opened that photo, clicked on the visibility, and clicked on the ability for this family group to be able to see this photo... So that did not work/help.
so I went back in and made the photo "public".. that did not work/help either... that photo is tagged with her FS ID.. (the one for this new family group).
here you can see that "lock" is gone from the bottom right of that photo. and you can see "that" photo is still not available to be chosen as her photo.
It is now half past midnight... and I just don't know what else to try!
I gotta get to bed.. another day... another day... I try so hard, I am tired and nearly in tears.

I think other people here have commented that adding a profile picture is not working right. So there must be some kind of bug. Your thorough documentation of what you tried should help the programmers figure out what is going wrong.
Try to keep from getting too frustrated! This is an experiment and we early adopters are here to help the programmers find and fix all the remaining bugs in the routine. Six programmers can only test so many variations of working. A thousand early adopters working in their own styles doing all sorts of things that never occurred to the programmers will get all the bugs stamped out much quicker. All your efforts are of great worth to the rest of us.

Mod note: Some images have been altered to preserve the privacy of living persons.

@Kristina Kuhn Yes, the ability to add a Limited Access photo as a Portrait photo is not available yet. They are working on this!
And to all of you a big Thank You!!! for helping each other figure this out! Official instruction pages will be coming, I promise!

Note also, that updates to the system have changed the COPY JUST YOURSELF tool. Now when you COPY JUST YOURSELF, it automatically merges that copy of your own profile with the profile of you already in the Family Group Tree. Hope you are enjoying the Family Group Tree!
