I am having trouble deciphering Martin Joseph Dobbelaere's father's name on the attached marriage record #18 . It looks like his father's first name is Lieven but has a different surname than Martin's. I would very much appreciate if someone could make out what the name is. Thank you!

    @Marie-Claude Lootens Christensen

    I think i would read it as né Slovere ; born Sloovere, the é and S seem to merge,and the second o not complete.These are common flaws with smeared ink/feather.There seems to be something before né but could be a mishap of the scribe,willing and assuming to note , Dob....

    possible scenario is that the father was on mothers maiden name at first, later legalised into another by marriage of the mother; Is this still Dottignies that you are trawling?

    Thank you Adrien! This helps. I will look further into this.

    I am not researching Dottignies...I believe someone else is researching that name.
