In this group  FAMILYSEARCH CENTER SUPPORT FOR LEADERS AND STAFF there is a link called (FamilySearch centers - Standard Operating Procedures) . Who has access to this?

At our FamilySearch Center, we have that document printed and in a 3-ring binder by the front desk. It was also handed out to everyone who is called to a position at the Center and also to Volunteers. The "image" above is from the main page of the Leaders and Staff Community and it says "guests" can also participate in the Wednesday evening meetings during the month. So as far as I can tell, based on the documentation, the answer to the original question is "anybody". Is that incorrect?

I am a Stake Family History Consultant and Stake Technology Specealist and I can not access the Family Search Centers Standard Operating Procedures. My wife is the Stake Family History Consultant - Family Search Center and she can not access that SOP. We have had those callings for 2 years. The question is if we can not access the SOP who can? Or is the link broken?

Attempting to access these SOPS asks me to log in and they do not go beyond the sign-in page. Apparently I do not have a need to know due to my calling.

      https://www.familysearch.org/en/fieldops/standard-operating-procedures

I have the same experience accessing this page

      https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/family-history-centers-sop

So check with your stake level folks to see if your "calling" status has changed. And that it need to be corrected so you do have access.

I do not need access, because I am a Ward Temple and Family Consultant.

Our calling status has not changed. We have no problem accessing other links or web sites for our callings.

The (FamilySearch centers - Standard Operating Procedures) link is the only one that is not working.

I have not attempted to try any of these

      https://www.familysearch.org/en/fieldops/standard-operating-procedures

except the first one and it did not get past the sign-in. But if I am perhaps "permitted" to access the one for Family Search SOP, then now you have a 2nd witness that something is amiss.

Knowledge Article #1990 has the SOP defined. Perhaps a search in the Help and Learning Center using that KA # would provide better access. There has been no report of the link being broken. You may wish to check with the stake clerk to be assured that the calling status is correct. There are several "callings" the SC could have used.

I typed in "Knowledge Article #1990" in the Help and Learning Center and I got this https://www.familysearch.org/en/blog/lianne-kruger-finding-family-through-teaching-and-technology

Clicking Sign in and signing in just puts me back to the same sign in page. Ergo, apparently I do not have "permission" to access the SOP for FamilySearch Centers due to my calling.

I believe that you can not find articles by number in Help and Learning Center (although I am pretty sure that it has worked for me several times). The article you found happens to have the date 1990 in it twice, and was likely the cause of it being returned as a search result. If "Article #1990" was contained in the text of the article, then it could be found by searching by number.

Regarding the SOP: Earlier this week, as I was dealing with another issue and thinking that it might be covered in the SOP, I had the same result that others above have had as I tried to log in to it. I called FSC Tech Support (866-406-1830, option 5) and asked why I can't sign in to view the FSC SOP. I was told that it is only for called FS tech missionaries, which is why I can't log in to it. I suggested that such language might be listed next to it, such as "FamilySearch centers - Standard Operating Procedures (for FS missionaries only)".

I was told that others had made that suggestion to no avail.

So untold numbers of FSC Leaders each spend an hour of more of their time trying to log in learn about the SOPs related to their calling only to give up, post here, or finally call tech support and be told that as they are not missionaries, they are not authorized to access the SOP. 😟 I think that the info contained there is at a level that would be beyond the technical ability of the average FSC Leader.

So, who determines which SOPs are viewable by the "rest of us"? Can the policies be relaxed for viewing SOPs? Are these Operating Procedures non-standard? If the "Handbook" has been posted online for all to see, why are SOPs (generally speaking and this one in particular) not treated in the same manner?
