Help with death entry in parish records
I could really use some help in figuring out the cause of death for my relative from Brunlanes. I can usually figure out the writing since I have viewed hundreds of Norwegian records, but I am lost on this one. I think it is mainly the rather indistinct letters of the handwriting. I've studied the word list of causes of death with no luck. Any ideas? Anders died very young (24), so we can rule out old age. See entry #9.
The entry for Anders is #9: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QHV-13PP-7FWJ?cc=4237104&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3A683G-TLHV
Thanks for any help you can offer.

The column heading in the parish record reads "Om død af smitsom Sygdom, og da hvilken, eller ved ulykkelig hendelse." which translates to "Cause of death, contageous disease or accident." The FamilySearch Wiki for Norway has a pdf with the parish register headings translated. This is from the 1820 register headings for deaths. See that here (on page 5 of 10): https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/img_auth.php/6/6e/Parish_Register_Headings_for_Norway.pdf.
In truth, though, for these records, the actual cause of death is not given. Almost every entry in this column for most of the book is the word "Anmaldt = Anmeldt" which translates to "Reviewed". I am not really sure what that is supposed to mean, but it isn't really the cause of death.

Norm,
Thanks for your response. I knew about the column headings, but your advice will certainly benefit others. I use that tool as well as the translations for the census column heading frequently. "Anmaldt" was what I couldn't figure out. No wonder it wasn't in the cause of death terms I was reveiwing. Your right though, that most of the entries contain Anmaldt. I guess I probably won't find out what Anders died of, but at least this clears up the mystery of the death entry.
Thanks again for answering my question.
