25 May, Ascension Day [which in 1797 was 25 May], the widow Karen Pedersdatter's illegitimate
child, of Hemmeshøj, Jørgen, carried [to the font] by John Peders[en]'s
daughter Maren of the same place. [Godparents were] Jens Lund's daughter Maren, bachelor
Peder Johnsen, bachelor Hans Nielsen, [and] cottager
Christen Nielsen. The mother resided with
her stepfather, Carl Christ[i]ansen. And
the child's father was identified as the tenant Friderich

After this was reported to the county governor and the priest,

with an oath.
