Translation Request - Birth Record
I am trying to translate a French birth record. Moreso, I am trying to decipher the father of Jean Baptiste Cotton. I have a subscription to Geneanet and Filae and none of those sites or trees mention the father. Geneanet does offer the attached record which points to FamilyTree, which I already came across. FamilyTree translates the name as Nicolas Cesar, but I cannot find any information on this person. Does the image state his age?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My ancestors come from Erre, Nord, if anyone has any interest or common ancestors in this area, I'd be happy to correspond.
Thank you,
Paul M Gregory

It's written: the 4th of January 1816 is present "DEBRAY Nicolas clerc et cultivateur" cleric and farmer at Erre, 80 years old. He declares the birth but there is nothing to say that he is the father. The mother is Félicité COTTON 30 years old "journalière" that means works and paid by day, she lives in the street "rue du Liot"at Erre. The baby is a male Jean Baptiste COTTON, he was born in her house the same day at 10 a.m. The witnesses are Nicolas Antoine DELAMBRE 21 years old and farmer at Erre and Jean Baptiste WANTELET 46 years old and linen manufacturer at Erre. All sign. I find some information in geneanet. For the mother: https://gw.geneanet.org/phil0001?n=cotton&oc=&p=felicite+joseph. and for DEBRAY Nicolas: https://gw.geneanet.org/pbrabant1?n=debray&oc=&p=nicolas+jos. I hope it will help you. Best regards Marie-Laure Giraud-Sauveur

The year 1816, 4h January,
Birth the same day of Jean Baptiste Cotton, son of Félicitée Cotton aged 30 years.
No Father.
The town hall officer is Nicolas Debray, also clerk and farmer. Because in small village, town hall officer is not a full time occupation.

Wow, thank you Marie-Laure and Matthieu very much! From what I can tell, she had six children, most without fathers up until 1820. I will look for any Debray, Delambre, and Wantelet's in the trees of my DNA shares. God rest her soul, I am not to judge. Mahalo!
