1861 Hastings County Census Dates Needed
I am searching for my William McCadden family ancestors who are listed on an 1861 Canada West Census from Sydney in Hastings County. But there is no date listed on the census sheet. I am hoping to learn the date this census was taken, because I believe that my great-grandmother died sometime during the spring of 1861, but I cannot find out anything about her death. My ancestors are also listed in an 1861 Sydney Township Census. But again there is no date listed on it. So I am hoping to learn the date this census was taken as well. Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

Ok
I need some information.
I assume you are looking for your great-grandmother on your father's side.
Please clarify
??????
What is your William McCadden's Family Search ID?
There are at least a dozen listed on Ontario
What was his wife's full name including "Maiden"?
What is the full name of your great-grandmother's full birth name including married name?
If married what was her husband's full name?
Take care

The date the Census of 1861 was started in Canada West (current-day-Ontario) and Canada East was Jan. 14, 1861.

Margaret McCadden (LBJT-VYF) appears to be the mother in the census which I’m assuming is your great grandmother. The Census of 1861 shows that she was born in Ireland as was her husband Wm. or William (LBJT-D58 or G986-PT4 appears to be some duplication). She was 36 yrs. of age at the time of the census. Two males, three females and one nonfamily member were living together at the time of the census. They were living in a single family, two story wood framed house. Margaret’s maiden name is listed as Hodehlan by one source. The children, William T. McCadden (LBJT-943) is listed as being born1853 in Mexico, Elizabeth McCadden (KZ5G-5PM) born 1855 in Mexico, Margaret A. McCadden (born in 1857 in Mexico).

I noticed that William shows up in a Kansas Naturalization abstract in 1869.
Kansas, U.S., Naturalization Abstracts, 1864-1972 - Ancestry.com
I also noticed that William T. son of Margaret and William is listed in the 1900 United States Census along with his family living in Kansas.

And in the 1910 United States Census William is listed living with his daughter Elizabeth Regnier (married name) in Kansas.

In the 1910 United States Census William T. and his family are now living in Oklahoma.

The probate record for William T. is included in the following link.

I came across other listings for William the father but not knowing what you may already know about the McCadden family members listed in the 1861 census I thought it best to ask if the information provided is helpful and if you already knew much of it, if you have additional questions or if you have additional information you would like to share in hopes of receiving additional input. It seems that William moved around a fair amount during his life.
Regardless, I hope some of this information you might find helpful in learning more about your ancestors’ lives.
