Inconsistent Columns in Vitals and Events
In the "Vitals" section, the two columns are read from left to right, (zig-zag style).
In the "Events" section, the two columns are read from left column down and then right column down (newspaper style). I tried the option to display a single column (like the old format), but there is too much scrolling.
I prefer the newspaper style in both sections.

We did testing with different options. The current setup was more intuitive for most users.
I personally liked the left to right in the events section, but very many users complained it was too hard to scan for data.
We'll work on the spacing.

It occurs to me that what I would actually prefer is a nice-and-compact two-column view of Vitals, and a single column for Other Information (but with a lot less vertical padding than it has currently).
I initially tried the two-column view back when Other also used the zig-zag, and I found it hopelessly confusing. The entries may as well have been randomly arranged -- it would not have made it any harder for me to parse or find things.
The problem with applying newspaper-style columns to Vitals is that it pairs or groups things rather nonsensically: Name - Christening, Sex - Death, Birth - Burial; {Name-Sex-Birth}, {Christening-Death-Burial}. In contrast, the zig-zag makes sensible pairings: Name - Sex (the basics), Birth - Christenings (the start), Death - Burial (the end). The column groupings also make logical sense, especially if you ignore the top line: {(Name) Birth-Death} (secular), {(Sex) Christening-Burial} (ecclesiastic).

Why are you referring to the "Other Information" section? I was asking about the Vitals and Events section, I never mentioned Other Information.

Events are a subset of Other Information.
