Templates / Fields - Request For Compressed Sizes
N.B. I have Google Chrome with default settings and screen size at 100%.
Above is an example of moving down this person's page for 6 scrolls worth. There are many more scrolls before reaching the bottom.
As you will see there is about 80 % of the screen is just wasted. A vast amount of white real estate. Getting a sense of a person / profile is very difficult.
Please could I put in a request for your programmers to compress the field sizes and increase the font sizes, especially "The Reason" for the data entry. Validating data is fundamental to any good database. We have to do so many more steps on this new person page to navigate around. Why add another step to hit More to see where & why data is added ??
The FS advice to have the High Contrast Mode switched on is missing the point of the overall new look.
Thanking you in advance for your urgent work required to make our lives easier on FS.
Cheers The Noo

Google Chrome on what kind of device? This is what I see for the above on my Macbook without scrolling:
On my iMac without scrolling:
Device type and site settings do make a big difference. Giving information about your screen will help the programmers fine tune the new pages now that they no longer need to struggle with keeping the old pages going and having the old and new pages play together nicely. I'm sure we'll continue to see further improvements over the coming months.
There have been a lot of discussions about there being too much empty room on this page. Just about the same number complain about clutter. Reducing white space will increase the clutter. Improving clutter would probably mean more white space. It must be hard to be a designer.

I'm in favor of removing some whitespace (especially in the Other Information section -- such as by combining Events and Facts), and of getting rid of every "more" link in creation.

I have a bog standard 17" laptop with Windows 10. But that is not the issue to be honest. I surf around many other websites quite happily.
Let's not digress though. The new format is the issue and the web designers need to work on this new look and horrid navigation of it. To add to it we have to scroll like mad, click on multiple new layers to get to where we need to be. Quick example, the Burial Sources should zip you straight to the website Find A Grave or BillionGraves. No, we have to see the FamilySearch blurb and then go to Find A Grave. Instead of barriers being taken down FS are creating hurdles. It's very very annoying. Most super users & researchers want to zip around databases, not have their time taken up with additional layers.
Many thanx

@davidnewton2 what is being discussed in the quote "Quick example, the Burial Sources should zip you straight to the website Find A Grave or BillionGraves. No, we have to see the FamilySearch blurb and then go to Find A Grave." has been brought up in the New Person Pages Group, is known to not be functioning quite right, and is on the list of things being worked on.
If you have a source:
Clicking on View Original Document in the side bar, it brings up this every time:
That is more often then it is supposed to. Apparently the warning is only supposed to come up once a session.
(If this is indeed the complaint causing the quote.)
What's funny, is that if you click on the View Document icon, the blue piece of paper with the camera on it, instead of clicking anything i the side bar, you do go directly to Find-A-Grave without the intervening warning at all.

mod note - posts were edited to expand the initials of Find A Grave to the full name.
