Hello,
I've received a link for a baptismal record but can't get to see the image and it has no index. Can anyone please try to see the image and share it with me, and/or help me to access it?
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS55-DSGJ?i=82&cat=187413
If not, could anyone point to the collection where the entry is?
Thank you!

Robert Seal_1 and Lucia, A sister missionary at the FHL at BYU found the document and sent me two pdfs. I can email both of them to you if you wish. Robert Seal is an amazing German translator and reads German script. He can translate these documents for you if you ask him to. Here are the two documents in jpg form: To enlarge the photos on my mac I hit the apple key and plus. I'm sure a pc works in a similar way. I darkened the images to make them more readable. Best regards, Kent Gardiner

Hello @LuciaVillarino and @Kent Gardiner,
This birth/baptismal record is in Latin, not German. Here is my translation:
First image:
Left margin: Fink, Cathar. Elisab. Born 22 January [1904]. Baptized 31 January [1904]. Legitimate.
No. 84.
(3.) In the year of Our Lord 1904, on the 22nd day of January born in Dirmstein, and on the 31st day of the same month baptized by me is the legitimate daughter of Carl/Karl Fink, day laborer, and Maria Mayer, Catholic spouses, the name given is Catharina Elisab., her godmother is Catharina Fink, "aeria" [= the person who lifted the child at the baptismal font]. Thus attested: A. Wisson, priest.
Note in lower left: Married in the parish of Montserrat, Buenos Aires, Republic of Argentina, with Maximo Stamer, 27th day of August 1923.
Second image: This is an index page to the birth/baptismal register. Catharina Elisabetha Fink is the third entry from the top of the page. The index entry directs you to the complete record above.

The message I get when trying to view it "This image is unavailable for online viewing at this time."
In my experience, this usually indicates a temporary IT error. I suggest trying again in a few days time.

Thank you! I've tried for 10 days now. I'm guessing that the link is only available for familysearch members. Maybe I'm wrong

I have encountered this before and I had to go to one of the Family History Centers to view the document. Some of them are not available only through the computers there. I usually take a jump drive and copy the document so I can review it at home.

Thank you! but I live in Argentina....not so easy here. I was hoping someone in this group that has access could help me. Thanks anyway!

If the record can only be viewed from a FHC, you'll see a message clearly saying that.
There are some records that only members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints can view. For those records you'll see a message saying you should try the website of a record custodian or partner.
Neither of those messages appear. As I said earlier, the most likely meaning of the message you saw is a temporary IT problem.

If you haven't already cleared your cache. Give that a try. Sometimes it helps.

If I search by the film number given in the link (187413) it says it is only viewable from a FHC. So I cannot view it either. There are quite a few FHCs in Argentina but maybe not very close.

Thank you all. I've tried cleaning cache and different browsers. I guess I can't access anyway. Thank you

I can try to look this up this afternoon because I will be at a FHC. I'm posting this so it is at the beginning of the posts.

LuciaVillarino Hi, we went to the local Family History Center and found the records. The films are of probate records from Hampshire, England. If that is what you want I can easily access the records, copy and post it or email it to you. What I need is the year and type of record you are looking for. Here is the top half of many probate records for Hampshire. As you can see there are many choices. When you view these records from a Center there is no key above the camera, meaning they are accessible. The microfilm number is 187413 and the digital copy of the film is 8047498. What page on the film do you want or what is the name and exact date of the probate record you are looking for? Best regards, Kent

Hello Kent,
Thank you for taking the time to help me. It's weird it's a record from England. It was sent to me from the FHC as the birth record for Katharina Fink, born in Dirmstein, Germany on Jan 22, 1904. I checked the link I post and seems to be correct. Perhaps they sent the wrong link.
Do you see anything that makes sense?
Maybe I should set a chat with them to clarify.
Thank you again!

FYI: I believe the six-digit number (187413) at the end of the link which Lucia provided in her original request is not an FHL microfilm number.
To search for the record Lucia is interested in, you need to input exactly: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS55-DSGJ?i=82&cat=187413 with all the slashes, punctuation, dashes, equal signs, etc., on a computer at a Family History Center or at the Family History Library in SLC.

Lucia, I will find that record for you tomorrow when I am at the Center. I love a challenge. Kent

Thank you Robert for the help with the link and thank Kent for the time you are spending on this!

You're welcome, Lucia. Let's hope that Kent has success at his Family History Center today.

Here is what I found: As you can see the Catholic Taufen or Baptismal records for 1904 are not digitized yet. They can be found on microfilm. The next time I go to Salt Lake City I can look this records up for you. I believe the Dirmstein records are all Catholic. According to Meyers there is only one Kirche or Church in Dirmsten which is Catholic so I assume Katharina was a Catholic. There are Evangelical records which I have attached as well. (see the second attachment)

Thank you so much Kent! yes, she was catholic. Her parents were Karl Fink and Maria Mayer.

Robert Seal_1 What is strange to me is that FS has a film number for 1901-1947 in Dirmstein and a digital number however you can't view the digital copy. If it is digitized - why can't we view it? Kent

I have asked a missionary at BYU FH Library to look up the record and send it to my email. Hopefully they can find it. If not I will drive down and get it for you. Kent

FamilySearch digitized virtually everything in the Catalog, including those films they do not have the authority to publish.
In most countries, birth/baptism records must be kept private for 100 years. Therefore the film with 1901-1947 baptisms won't be published until January 2048. However by then FS may have worked out how to split up the film so that they can publish the older records and keep the younger records offline.

Here are the current time restrictions on German vital records:
110 years for birth records.
80 years for marriage records.
30 years for death records.
This is why that one film, even though it has been digitzed, is not available online at this time.
