If you do not know which Catholic parish on **** Island they are from (12 parishes, I believe) I suggest you use tombo.pt to locate the passport which should give birth info. Follow the link on bottom left of home page to Acores and you will find three possible areas they could have received their passport. After determining more specific info from the the passports then you can use the same tombo.pt site to locate parish records by following "Acores" to "Ilhas" (islands) to "Concehlo" (county) to "Freguesias" (parishes). This is all on the left side of page. Once you have the parish then you should be able to locate a lot of family info.
