Looking for help in finding a source
I have a book that has the following information:
This is near the east, southeastern border of Saarland. He is listed in the Church Archives there as Hans Peter Schott and as leaving on ship #222 in 1754. (4)
The source is given as (4) which is:
(4) Palatine Immigrant, Vol. IX, No. 3, Winter/Summer, 1985, Saarland Emigrants. Their source was from the Manumission Protocols, Duchy of Zweibruecken, Bo1. 2, 1750-1771 from the Church Archives of Zweibruecken.
I am trying to find this source which will lead me to the Church Archives record. Hopefully someone can point me in the direction where I can see the actual source.
Thanks
Roger

Hello @Roger W. Wells,
I found the following two catalog records in the Family History Library catalog for the Zweibrücken manumission protocol records:
Here is the link for volume 1 (covering 1724-1749): https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/227429?availability=Family%20History%20Library
Here is the link for volume 2 (covering 1750-1771): https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/156109?availability=Family%20History%20Library
These records have been digitized and are viewable online. Click on the camera icon to get to the images available on each digitized microfilm.
P.S. If there is a key above the camera icon (indicating access to the film is locked), click on the camera icon anyway and you should be able to view the images -- it worked for me on both records.

Hello again Roger,
Here is the link to the specific image in volume 2 where Hans Peter Schott is recorded: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSP3-29TZ-4?i=24&cat=156109
His entry is on the right-hand page, sixth entry up from the bottom of the page.
The entry records that he is from the "Schwartzenacker" = Schwarzenacker.
Here is the link for Schwarzenacker from Meyers Gazetteer: https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/20771096

The church records (births, marriages, deaths) that familysearch filmed all say they were filmed at the Stadtarchiv Zweibrüken. I would think that church records related to emigration would also be there.
This link has some info about the Stadtarchivs.
Edit to add: If you are just looking for the 1750-1771 list, it is available in a book at the Salt Lake library.

Thanks to both of you. Now I just need to translate the page. I am hoping to not only find Peter but hopefully his brother Michael.

Can you show me the line that has Peter? And translate the line? Thanks Roger

Hello Roger,
His entry is on the right-hand page, sixth entry up from the bottom of the page. It reads as follows:
"Hanß Peter Schott vom Schwartzenacker" = Hanss Peter Schott from the Schwarzenacker.

Robert - Thanks for the great help. I think this may be a 5th great grand parent. I appreciate you help and hope I am not asking too much but if so just ignore me.
I have attached 3 pages of
the document you referenced and would like to have a translation of any entries that contain the name of Adam, Elizabeth, Michael, or Peter. Also there is a note at the bottom left of the 2nd page of the document that I would like to know about.
According to speculation these individuals came to Pennsylvania on the same boat as the Peter you have already given me. If I can find their names then I plan on trying to find a family from Germany that has the 2 sons, Peter and Michael.
Again Thanks

Robert thanks - This person may be my 5th great grand parent.
I have another request and hope I am not being a pest if so just ignore me.
I would like to have a translation of any of the entries for 1754 which contain the name of Adam, Elizabeth, Michael or Peter. I have reason to believe that they may be brothers and/or sister in law to Peter. If this is the case I next plan to try and find a church record that show the parents of both Michael and Peter?
I tried to upload the documents but had problems. The document would start at the page before and end at the page after the page you gave me.

Thanks again Roger

Hello Roger,
Please refer to the right-hand page where Hanß Peter Schott's entry appeared. Note that after his entry there are four more entries, two of which include the names "Elisabetha" and "Adam". These five entries are bracketed with the following note written on the right: All five in/to America.
Here is a translation of the five entries:
Hanß Peter Schott from Schwarzenacker.
Daniel Dittlo? from Morschweiler ____?
Johannes Kauffmann from Gutenbrunnen.
Elisabetha Kauffmännin from there [Gutenbrunnen].
Adam Jaques' widow from Schwarzenacker.
When I have the time I will look through all the entries for 1754 for the surname "Schott" and for the forenames Adam, Elisabeth, Michael, and Peter.

Hello Roger,
I went through the entries for the year 1754 and found no other entry with the surname "Schott".
I found the following three entries which have the first name "Peter":
Image 25, left-hand page, 7th entry from bottom of page: Peter Schirÿ from Wolfersheim with his wife and 7 children to America.
Image 25, left-hand page, 5th entry from bottom of page: Peter Guts from Wolfersheim and his own to America.
Image 25, right-hand page, 2nd entry from top of page: Peter Fischer from Hütschenhausen . . . [unable to decipher the remainder of this entry].
I found no entries with the name "Michael".
Aside from the entries for the names "Adam" and "Elisabetha" in the bracketed group of five which I have already translated for you, I found no other entries with the first names "Adam" and "Elisabeth(a)".
I hope this helps you with your family research.

I am still struggling with this record.
I think it is telling me that these people emigrated from ? Germany on ship # 222 in 1754.
Questions I have:
In looking at the arrivals for 1754 in Pennsylvania, USA the number of individuals do not match what is on this list. There were 2 ships that arrived that same year maybe this list is for the other ship?
Did they sail up the Rhine to some point picking up passengers as they went? Then all transfer to the ship Neptune? What would be their route?
The two brothers? I am looking for are J. Peter (X) Shrot andJ Johann Michel Schrott. Both are listed as arriving at Pennsylvania in the Neptune 1774. I have them as Johann Peter Shrout, b: 18 Aug 1733, d: 12 Oct 1804, FSFTID: LKKM-J28, and Johannes Michael Schrot, b: 7 Sep 1717, d: 1 Nov 1784

Hello again @Roger W. Wells,
I am using the following source (which is available on Ancestry) in answering your questions:
Ralph Beaver Strassburger, Pennsylvania German Pioneers, volume 1 (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Company, 1966).
Your questions:
In looking at the arrivals for 1754 in Pennsylvania, USA the number of individuals do not match what is on this list. There were 2 ships that arrived that same year maybe this list is for the other ship?
I believe you are referring to the ship Neptune. The Neptune arrived twice in Philadelpha in 1754: once on September 30 (List no. 221 A, B, C on pp. 620-626 in the above-named book) , and again on December 12 (List no. 232 A, B, C on pp. 671-675). So yes, you should review both lists for the names you are searching for.
On list 221A (page 621) I find both a "Peter Srott" and a "Joh. Michael Schrotte".
On list 221B (page 623) I find both a "Peter Srott" and a "Johann Michael Schrott".
On list 221C (page 625) I find both a "J. Peter Shrot" and a "J. Joh. Michel Schrott".
If these are not the persons you are searching for, then you will need to review the passengers on List 232 A, B, C, for the Neptune's second 1754 arrival on pages 671-675 of this book.
Did they sail up the Rhine to some point picking up passengers as they went? Then all transfer to the ship Neptune? What would be their route?
In this same book in the Introduction, see pages xxxiii-xxxix under the section heading "Journey to Pennsylvania", especially the first two paragraphs.
My comment: If you have access to Ancestry, here is the link to the above book where you can search both Neptune passenger lists for the year1754: https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/48379/
Note that a number of ships arrived in Philadelphia in 1754 and the passenger lists for these arrivals appear on lists 215-233 in this book.
Since the surname can be spelled in a variety of ways, I would suggest you go through each list line-by-line to be sure you haven't missed any other variant spellings of this surname.

Hello Roger,
When you say "I am still struggling with this record", which record are you referring to?
Is it this record from the Zweibrücken manumission list: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSP3-29TZ-4?cat=156109
If so, the note regarding the five people bracketed at the bottom of the page translates as: all five moved to America.
There is no indication as to which ship they traveled on.
For example, using the index at the back of volume 2 of the Pennsylvania German Pioneers book, we see that the second and third persons on "your" manumission list, "Daniel Dittlo" and "Johannes Kauffman", arrived in Philadelphia on the Phoenix (see list 222 in the book). So these people didn't necessarily travel on the same ship.
If this isn't your question, please ask again.
