Help translating marriage proclamation for Wilhelm Schulz and Johanna Schlueter
Hi,
Attached is the marriage proclamation from Gross Fredenwalde for Wilhelm Schulz born in Ringenwalde and his father is David Schulz from Steinhofel. The bride is Johanna Schlueter daughter of Johann Schlueter and she was born in Gorlsdorf.
Need help with:
- Translation of what it says about Wilhelm Schulz (column 2) occupation, etc.
- Translation of what it says in column 6. Was he married before?
- Johanna is from where? I cannot read it
- Date of proclamation.
- Would there be a marriage record? Any suggestions as to where to look for it?
Thank you, Myke Rachu

The intention of marriage was proclaimed in Gross Fredenwalde on the 3 Ephiphany (27 January) 1848, for
The property owner Wilhelm Schulz, residing in Fredenwalde, son of David Schulz a master weaver in Steinhöfel, Wilhelm was a widower, 32 3/4 years old, born in Ringenwalde, the first marriage was separated by the death of the first wife, and
the virgin/maiden Johanna Schlüter at Bruchhagen, daughter of the laborer Johann Schlüter of Bruchhagen, 31 years old, born in Görlsdorf.
Görlsdorf and Bruchhagen belong to the parish Greiffenberg II, according Meyersgaz..County is Angermuende.
I checked parish Greiffenberg the marriage is not listed. However, the villages Bruchhagen and Goersdorf don't seem to appear in these records. They probably had a church book for the town of Greiffenberg and one for the rural area around there (Greiffenberg II)
I checked the records of Steinhoefel parish, but the marriage was not listed in that parish.
You will probably need to do an area search around the area. People oftentimes got married in the place where the bride was from.
