Searching for my grandfather's family in China
I've had difficulty finding my grandfather's family in China. I think he came from Canton, China and we show a birth date of August, 1861. In the 1930 Census it listed him arriving from China to Hawaii in 1874. His name is Shea Fong. He married a Hawaiian lady and they had 4 children. His wife's name was Kapahupainakaleikoa Keopuhiwa. I never met my grandfather, because he passed away before i was born. According to one of my older brothers, my grandfather was very short but the kindest person he every knew. I do have a picture of him, but my children would have to upload it for me. If you know how i can do research of him and his family in china, i would appreciate anyone's help. Thank you. My name if Bernadette Lewis and my father's name is Ernest Ah Wah Shea, Sr. My dad was the youngest of his siblings.

Glad to know you got some valuable information about your grandfather. I would like to see the details of these documents to give you the suggestions.
We may have a little different way to search Chinese genealogy. 😁 I would like to see some Chinese characters to be able to know the surname in Chinese characters and location information in China.
I guess the way you can share the information further is to book me an online consultation that is provided by FamilySearch Library. https://go.oncehub.com/LenaStoutChina
