Robert Seal_1 Robert: Johann Martin Josthumus Scholl was born 2 August 1788 to Johann Martin Scholl (1760-1788) a very short life indeed ID: K4LP-R3J, and Magdalena Roesch 1762-1852. She was on her own for 64 years. That is a record in any book. Johann Josthumus married Magdalena Seeger (1791-1875) 7 Jan 1813. They had 8 children from 1813 to 1831.
Any thoughts on the name Josthumus? Thank you for a wonderful translation! Kent

You're welcome, Kent.
I have not heard of the name "Josthumus".
The child Johann Martin Scholl, born 2 August 1788, was born posthumously, i.e., after his father died in June 1788, and perhaps this was mistaken as the name "Josthumus".
Please post the birth/bap record for Johann Martin Scholl (the child born 2 August 1788) so I can determine what's going on here.
Thanks, Robert
