note on marriage record
Lerbo, Södermanland, Sweden 28 November 1852 record #10
Jonas Andersson and Brita Catharina Andersdotter
There is a note on their marriage record that seems to say something about him using another name. Will you please help me to understand the note_

Here is an extraction of the record from ArkivDigital. I think the words you thought were a different name were his domicile. Do you have more info on Jonas and Brita Catharina? I found someone that looks like them in Lerbo later on, with children, including a son from Brita Catharina's first marriage.

I do have more information on them. They are in Lerbo. Thanks for helping!
The question I have is for what is listed below the information about where they lived when they got married and their names.
Something happened on 23 June 1852 in regard to a J. Engstrom.

Starting 4th line:
Bride presented the legal settlement of an estate certificate done at 23 June 1852, undersigned by J. Engström from v. Vegred

Thanks Heidi! That is completely different then I thought. What does that mean? Does it have to do with the death of her husband, Eric Ericsson, who was killed?

Yes, after her husband's death they had to do the estate inventory (bouppteckning), meaning they had to list possible heirs and make a list of all possessions and money and also if they owned money to someone.

Is there a reason why she would need to present this legal settlement at the time of her marriage?

It might not have been mandatory in every area to present it, but especially with people with more possession, it was important to do. It told that everything was ok after first marriage and the widow, especially widowed wife) was ready to marry again and what was her possessions.
