BARKER family Norfolk & Cambridgeshire England & USA
Hello,
I am trying to locate my Barker family from these areas of England: Ely, Wardy Hill, Hilgay, Witcham, Coveney
I have old photos from my Gran that no one here can identify. These are photos of people in our family who did not come to the US & some who did. If you are related to the following & may be able or willing to assist please contact me.
Thomas Barker b: abt 1783 Wardy Hill, Cambridgeshire, England d: 1861 Ten Mile Bank, Hilgay, Norfolk, England md: 1810 Witcham, Cambridgeshire, England to Alice Smith
Children that I know of: Shadrick/Shadrack, Sarah, Maryann, Maria, William &
Thomas b: 1829 Coveny, Cambridgeshire, England d: 1905 Iowa, USA md Catharine Dorman
Photos are of his family, possibly siblings or their families, some have his children but we do not know who is in all of the photos & some of his siblings never left England. It is possible that there are relatives on this site who would recognize people in these photos from seeing them in their family collections. Some of these photos may have been taken in England & sent to the US. Photos range in dates from abt 1860's to 1920's. As an example I am attaching a copy of a photo taken abt 1910 of Thomas & Catherine's family after his death. He is represented in the photo by his portrait being held by his son Shadrack. Catherine "Ma" (Dorman) Barker his widow is in the middle front row, 2nd from the left back row is their grand daughter Eliza Jane Wool who they raised after her parents death. There are several other photos & I am unsure of the generation or the people.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated,
Nilla Rita

@Nilla Rita , I have had some success by posting photos as memories for individuals and tagging those I know. People who are related, even distantly, will see those photos in the recent memories posted on the main page in FamilySearch. I have had some distant family contact me that way.
Another way some friends have found success in finding distant relatives and help identifying people in old photos is to find a group on Facebook. Some are by surname and others are by location, but it's worth a shot if you want to try all sources.
I hope someone responds!!

Posting this to this group was optimistic! Still no harm in trying! Sorry that I cannot help.
Your best chance is to try and find a relative through family trees posted on the internet.
Based on your birth information, I tried looking for Thomas Barker (b 1785) on FamilySearch, Ancestry, FindMyPast, Genes Reunited and MyHeritage without success. There may be others I have overlooked.
