Years searching Moise Marincolo in Longobucco
Hello all. I have been searching for years to find about my great 3x grandfather Moise Marincolo and his daughter my great great grandmother Rita Lucia. As far as I can find there is no father on record I can find for her son Giovanni Carmino “marincolo/Maringolo” born in Corigliano 1 Febraio 1887. For Rita and her son I have found more siblings, parents, etc.
the records seem be- "International Genealogical Index (IGI)," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:1:MQZ1-CH5 : accessed 31 May 2021), entry for Francesco Moise Marincolo Catalano; submitted by jcampana1101120 [identity withheld for privacy]; no source information is available.
INTERNATIONAL GENEALOGICAL INDEX (IGI)

- 160
- Submission ID

Can anyone tell me how to find more about that? Are there more records available through contacting the uploaded?
thanks in advance .

This link is to an archive and the information is limited to what you see in the link. If you think this is your family, then your 3x great grandfather's surname is Catalano. In a cursory search, I did not find any surnames for Marincolo.
This link will take you to a page with multiple links for Italian research and someone here may be able to help you.
You might also try https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Italy_Surname_Maps which is a link found on the https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Italy_Genealogy page. This page has many resources including form letters you can use to write for records.
There are also facebook groups like this one that can help you with records. https://www.facebook.com/groups/SouthernEuropeGenealogyResearchCommunity/
I am hoping this will help.

Thanks much. I have found those records but am constantly searching .
Rita Marincolo birth records are what I’d also like but the 1853 or so records are not available online.
Her marriage records would be of particular interest to see if his father was known... sort of.
Her son Giovanni had two brothers that I found with different fathers confirmed. One of the brothers was a twin but the other didn’t survive.

Indeed, the records for 1809-1865 are only accessible at the Family History Center.
There is another site useful for Cosenza province research, you can try your luck there: https://www.postercosenza.beniculturali.it/

Thanks again. I have combed through every page of the books available to me. I have found two of her sister’s marriage acts but none of hers. She had a three sons that survived. A son by Francesco Bruno and a son by Giorgio Medolla. No marriages found. It’s a mess. But I’ll keep trying. Just biting my nails waiting for the search center to open here in vista California. Lol
