The record says that the mother is Neeltje van den Hazel, and that she is ongehuwd (=not married).

What does it say in the handwriting? Anything about a mans name< o am looking for the possible father. No husband because she is unmarried but the father of Jan Van Den Hazel. The name in the blue circle, what does it read?

In the Blue field,.... (Housewife ,Mrs Theunis Werts).
The word is 'huisvrouw'-, before Mrs Teunis Werts, and indeed, Mieke is correct, the sentence is
Femmetje van Der Veen, housewife Ms Theunis Werts, age, Achten veertig (48) years , declares
that, etc... (not married).
The midwife here speaks instead of the supposed father of the child. At this stage the Father remains unknown. It is possible , however that he later recognised the child as his,by stepping to the civil office, and make himself known. But in those days they accepted 'on word of honour'
So if Jan stayed a Van Den Hazel all his life,...
@Mieke Hawner, de 48 is beter te zien als je naar de originele akte kijkt , en het woord eronder
afdekt.Maar het maakt voor de zaak weinig uit.
