This link supports the evidence that the Ss Melita made his last voyage to St Johns on 16/03/1927;and that the route changed to Quebeq thereafter
This is the txt. Only the needed snippet
546 On 16th Mar.1927 she started her
last Antwerp - Southampton - St John NB voyage and on 15th Apr.1927 started
her first Glasgow - Belfast - Quebec - Montreal sailing. Her last Liverpool
- Belfast - Greenock - Halifax - St John NB voyage commenced on 18th March 1932
This link supports the evidence that the sistership , The SS Minnedosa, arrived 3 days after the Melita, in St Johns,as
to conclude its last passing via St Johns.to switch the route to Quebeq after that.
Both pages clearly show that that service was halted in 1931
after wich both ships were laid-up, en subsequentely sold to
Italy.

---This is the snip from it--
She commensed her last Antwerp-Southampton-ST John’s Nb
Liverpool voyage ON 30/03/1927 And was transferred to the Liverpool-Quebeq-Montreal route ON 29/04/1927.
….ON 27/06/1931 She started her last transatlantic crossing
from Glasgow to Quebeq and Montreal and was then laid-up in the river Clyde
My Note here, The first date is indeed three days after the Melita ended the service. Both ships were moored at Clyde-river.
The last date—is evidence the vessels were out of service when Margarets father entered Canada.
This was roughly 1904+28= 1932 as year of entering.
The small difference on the date Jenny The Wulf provided, and
deviates one day only with the document, is the difference in time between Canada-Europe,speed of ship/Eart’s rotation.
26=27. So we can further disregard the ships manifests as useless.
The first time that i can find you father , Margaret,Is in a dokument
from immigration services.

It clearly shows him and his appeal for naturalisation. Was this something you already had??
Just wondering
