I am trying to validate the birth and marriage relationship of Wm McClune1778 – Deceased • K8J7-S4
Family Search shows birth in Ireland, but it may be Scotland. His parents show as James and Mary McClune which I can't justify as well. Thank you!!

Do you have any records to show where William's information came from? His children on FamilySearch range from being born in 1813 to 1892, which is not possible with the same mother or for William for that matter--he would have been 114 in 1892. It may seem counterintuitive, but I would suggest going back down a generation (or two) and verifying who belongs to the family and where William's name and information came from first. Once you have the U.S. family straightened out, then you can see if it's possible to find a hometown for him in U.S. records--you would need that to search any Irish or Scottish records. Someone from @United States Genealogy Research might be able to help.

Sources show the family and death of he and his wife. although an unfortunate incident. I'll check with US Genealogy Research.
