Pre WWI military records for Galicia - Austria
My grandfather was of Polish descent; however, his nationality was Austrian as he was born in the town of Nowy Targ in the province of Galicia in 1888. Prior to his immigration to the USA in 1911 he served as a private in the Austrian Army in 1909. This information comes from his 1917 WWI military draft registration card and his 1940 Alien Registration Form. Can anyone direct me to where I might find his Austrian Army records from 1909?

I believe records after 1897 are still at the Kriegsarchiv (War Archive) in Vienna (the earlier records are on FamilySearch).
