Praprot, Semič, Slovenia (once Yugoslavia)
I have actually been there and received copies of parish records of his father's family (Jakob as a child) and his gfather's family. Where do I go from here? Were earlier records sent to Ljubljana? Would they be online to search?

According to the gazetteer on www.genteam.at , the parish for Praprot was Semic. These records are available on FamilySearch.org. See https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/406388?availability=Family History Library

see https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSPJ-33HZ-8?i=69&cat=406388 for the left page of Jacob's 1880 birth entry [ Film 008245778 image 70]. The right side is here https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSR7-87TF-L?i=72&cat=406388 on image 73. It's the 5th entry from the top down.

Thank you so much. I attached the records to my grandfather's FS entry. Question: on the family church record I got in Semic his name was spelled Jakob. On the above birth record is says Jacobus. Why? Next, I also have the family record of his father, also named Jacob Mihelcic born 24 July in Maline. I believe HISs father was Andre Mihelcic but no documentation. Could you help me navigate to that Jacob's birth record? Also if would be great if you could translate all the column headings at the top of the sheet . I know birthdate, and father and mother, but not sure of the other information.
You have given me so much hope that I might be able to trace this family further. I very much appreciate your service.
