Siménfalva
According to family stories, my great-grandma was born in Siménfalva (in 1899), which should be close to Arad (today in Romania) and probably accessible by boat. However, I could not find the village on old maps. I found a Simonyifalva which could be a match, but I don't know how to make sure. Are there some lists of alternate names for villages or similar?

There is a settlement called Siménfalva in Transylvania (called Șimonești today), and it is located in Hargita county. It is close to Székelyudvarhely (Odorheiu Secuiesc today), very far from Arad.
There is a Simonfalva in Southern Hungary.
Simonyifalva is the match I guess, as it is near to Arad. Current name is Satu Nou.
