Baptism indexes and records
Hello there! My name is Ezra Alvez and im looking for some guide in my hungarian branch.
I made my way up to my great grandfather Gyorgy Hegedüs who was baptized in 9th of Apr 1873 in Slovakia. His parents are written as Michael Hegedüs and Maria Kanczik.

My doubt is how can i get upper in my tree. How can i continue upward? That record up is an index or is there any image i can find more information about Gyorgy's grandparents?
I dont know how to read hungarian so i find it difficult to decipher this language.
Many thanks!
Ezra Alvez

Hi!
You have to search they marriage record. If you will lucky that will contain not only the bride and groom name and their age but place of origin and parents name as well. It happened before 1-2 years they first child birth so if you don't want to page a lot in marriage records (usually not indexed) I recommend to look for all children first.
After you can search their parents birth records. Birth records mostly indexed so not to difficult. But the parents sometimes married again because one of them was widowed.
Otherwise you are not lucky because you can not page in this film for marriage record "Krsty 1890-1908 Manželstvá 1843-1925 Konvertiti 1901-1951 Miešané manzelstvá 1868, 1870 Úmrtia 1843-1907" DSG is 4948169.
But if I were you I would look for an FS downloader on the internet

Hello! Many thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate also the hungarian word list so i can have a better understanding.
What i have already done is looking from the 1873 backwards looking for any other son of Mihaly and Maria's marriage but i havent found. I guess they must have been married in 1873 or before. Do you know where i can finde the marriage records of that same church?

I think this is too much. I recommend to know the exact name of the village than use Search -> Catalog menu
