Apparently the husband entered his wife's information under his account, then the wife entered her own info under her account, then their daughter entered her mother's info under her own personal account. We now have three IDs for one person and are unable to connect the wife/mother to the other accounts. HELP!

The way your question is framed - it seems that the wife in question is alive - not deceased.
The husband and daughter entering details of the wife/mother puts the wife (because she is alive) into a private space for the husband and daughter respectively. The husband and daughter are the only individuals using FamilySearch Family Tree that will see their (private) version of that living person and all attached details. Their versions could be the same - or different - but it is the way in which FamilySearch protects the privacy of the living.
You cannot merge them together.

You are correct - she is alive. We are unable to merge or delete the duplications because they are separate accounts.
So, how do we resolve this issue? We have three separate ID #'s for one person, and unable to connect them to husband & daughter's accounts, nor connect their accounts to the mother.

The husband, daughter and wife may need to connect the wife to a series of other (private) living ancestors before reaching some deceased ancestors which can be shared.

There is no further answer - you keep building the tree in each of the accounts for each of the wife, husband and daughter until each of them reaches some commonn deceased ancestors - which will be shared .
The same thing will happen for the wife and daughter and the record they will have for the father/husband - all entries for living people are private to the persons account that entered them - no one else accessing FamilySearch Family Tree will ever see these records except the person that entered them.
To repeat agin - this is the way in which FamilySearch protects the privacy of the living.

They "will never be seen by the other persons…" until each of those individual PID records are marked as deceased. Once that happens, they will all show up as duplicates in the main part of the FSFT (visible to everyone) and will then have to be merged since they all represent the same person.
The main purpose of the FSFT was to support the documenting of deceased individuals. Although you can set up your own private collection of living persons, as has already been pointed out, you cannot share those with anyone else. That is by design to protect the privacy of living individuals and meet both national and international laws on privacy.

You can certainly "Merge"/"Combine" any "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' with another "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', regardless of who the User/Patron was that initially created those "Deceased" individuals/persons; as, they DO NOT reside with the User/Patron who initially created them - they are "Public".

If fact, you can ONLY see "Deceased" individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; except, with this 'rider', that you can ALSO only see "Living" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' that YOU created; as, they reside in your "Private Spaces".

No other User/Patron can see ANY "Living" individuals/persons that were created by ANOTHER User/Patron; as, they ONLY reside in the "Private Spaces" of the User/Patron who created them.
.
We CANNOT even see the ACTUAL Record in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' of our IMMEDIATE Family (eg. Spouse; Children; Parents; Siblings; ETC; Etc; etc) if they are "Living"; and, they have their own 'FamilySearch' Account.

Of course, you can create your "Living" Family members; and, record them in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; but, they will ONLY be seen by you:

- You cannot "Share" them with any other User/Patron.

- You cannot "Merge"/'Combine" them with any other "Living" individual/person residing in the "Private Spaces" of another User//Patron.

There is CURRENTLY no mechanism in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' for Users/Patrons, to "Share"; or, "give permission" to "Share", the "Living" individuals/persons in their own "Private Spaces" with/between other/another User(s)/Patron(s).

There are a myriad of "Privacy" Laws within the many various Countries and Unions throughout the World - it is a nightmare to negotiate.

"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is used in many Countries and Unions throughout the World; and, as such, must adhere to the myriad of "Privacy" Laws throughout the World.

Hence, "Privacy" is one of the reasons that we cannot "Share" the "Living" individuals/persons in our own "Private Spaces" - it is NOT the ONLY reason; but, certainly has a bearing on the matter.

Another factor is that such would have to be 'Coded'/'Programmed' into the Programme that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

'Yes', these "Living" individuals/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' WILL, in fact, in many (most) cases will be "Duplicated" - unfortunately a necessary situation that currently cannot be avoided.

I know that there are "Duplicates" of the "Living" ME - at least, one for my Wife and each of our Children, not to mention my other ("Living") extended Family members.

Basically ...

ALL Users/Patrons MUST "Build" a "Bridge" of; and, "Duplicate", ALL the "Living" individuals/persons that, both, separate and connect/link them, to OTHER User/Patrons; even, IMMEDIATE Family members; until, they come to the first "Deceased" Ancestor/Relative where they join together.

IF, it is; THEN, I believe that the 'context' of the 'words' of "Record Indexes" in the above (by the ORIGINAL Poster) may be a reference to MULTIPLE 'Family Search Person Identifiers' (PIDs) for the SAME User/Patron.

In other words, extrapolating, MORE than ONCE 'FamilySearch' Account for the SAME User/Patron.

I do not believe that the above reference has anything to do with "Indexes" of "Records" (ie. "Sources") in 'FamilySearch'; nor, in the "Family History Library" (FHL) of the Church in "Temple Square" in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.

This has probably already been offered.
Each member of your family; spouse, children, you, etc. have to enter living people in their own Family Tree account.
So, if your grandparents are living, then each family member will enter them into Family Tree as living and each family member will have a different ID for the grandparents (if living).
Then when entering deceased ancestors like great grandparents, each family member will have the great grandparents with the same ID, Because they are deceased.

On the upper right near to your name is a ? Question Mark. Click on that and when the confusing down box appears, click on "Help Center" at the bottom. When it goes to the next page, put your question in the Search Box. It takes a bit of time, using different search criteria to get the result you want. But likely it is there, just a bit hard to find.
