What is the translation of this part of the baptismal register? ( This is a follow up question- plea
Julia Szent-Györgyi 's a month ago. Thank you! )
Attached is the section under observations in the baptismal register. What is the proper translation?
I have also attached the link to the baptismal register. This is on the 1st line 19.
Thank you,
Doug Anderson

Tamas,
Thank you for your translation. I inadvertently attached the wrong link for that record. I have attached the correct record link below. The observations area has the information about guardianship. Does it mean that the Church or the god parents took guardianship of Theresia from 1889 Jan 14 to 1896 Jan 14? From other records
( https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L8N4-6CB) it appears that her mother died in 1878 and her father passed away in 1899.

I read the surname as Golias.

Thank you Julia.
Do you have any thoughts regarding the significance of the guardianship and dates?

I'm not sure the two entries in the remarks column have anything to do with each other, and even if they do, they wouldn't typically indicate a time range, but the date of the document and the date of the remark about it.
My guess, though, is that it's two different remarks, given that it uses the word for the month on one line, and a Roman numeral on the other. Something happened in the guardianship court on 14 January 1889, and then something else happened on 14 January 1896 -- very likely an extract was issued.

Thank you. That makes sense. It seems unusual that there was anything about guardianship of Theresia because of her age at the time of the notes.
Thank you again.

Coming back to this for another look, I noticed a remark for another entry on the page pointing out that basically, a remark had been added to the wrong entry in the death register -- the person in that register entry was still living, and it was a different person with the same name (but different father's given name, in that case) who had died. This makes me wonder if the guardianship case actually applies to someone else with the same or similar name.

This is the entry in comments section of the baptismal record (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-62TS-LHR?i=190&cc=1554443&personaUrl=/ark:/61903/1:1:V1D2-NNZ) for a sibling - Andreas Golias (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/vitals/GW51-NN7)
It appears there must have been some kind of inquiry made.
Do you know what the last word is and what it means? My best guess is nyomorás meaning misery, but that does not make sense to me.

The last word is _nyomozás_: investigation (as in, what a police detective does).
8. 10, 11 Feb. Andreas, masc., legit.
Joannes Golias, Maria Misencsik, RC farm.
Darócz
Paulus Halaj, Catharina Sarosko (? on both; it's very faint)
orphan's court 14/189. - Judlio (?) 29/10 89.

árvaszék 1889 Jan 14én [orphan's court on 14th January 1889]
1896.I.14. [14 Jan 1896]
árvaszék (literally "orphan chair", based on törvényszék "court of law") is the part of a municipal administration charged with managing the property and personal matters of those under some form of guardianship.

Thank you Julia!
All of this goes together to make a more complete record of who the family was and the substance of their lives. It also helps me to understand these records better.
