@charles randall wilson If you are asking if you can images to "Stories" in tree that can't be done. The word processor there is primitive and doesn't allow images to be imbedded in them. The alternative is to create a Word document or PDF of your story that has the images and upload it in Documents. I personally dislike this but it is the only real work around that I know.
You can add images to stories you create by placing up to 10 in a ribbon above the story. The down side is they can't be put down in the body of the story so they match up with the story like people usually do. Only the author of the story can add or remove images.
Does that cover what you are asking? Yes, it would help if you were a little more specific but I think this is what you are looking for.

Thank you for asking clarifying questions @Brett .. @charles randall wilson there are so many ways our Community wants to help you. We hope to chat with you more about this to help meet your needs and answer you question. @Robert Givens does point out the option to add images to stories or memories already in the tree.
Will you let us know if you need additional information on that or if you were referring to something else entirely? We want to make sure your question is answered.
Also, let us know what else we can help with, as we very much love to help everyone learn.

As @Robert Givens points out - there is no direct way to embed an image directly inside a "story". This is because the story is stored in nothing more than bare TEXT - no formatting - that is by intentional design. As Robert points out - one way, that I very much like, contrary to Robert - is to convert the story to a word or pdf document - whereby I can format it exactly as I want - leaving me in total control of the formatting. (this though technically makes it what is called a document and not a true "story" (using the semantics of FS) - but in my opinion I like that method better.
There are, however, actually two other "work arounds" in linking a "story" with an image or vice versa.
There actually is a method (seen under "edit" story) that allows you to attach a photo to a story
here is one example:

Technically you could (with some constraints) also add a story to an image
by adding a comment to the photo

Here is a great example of what can be done with a pdf document:
