Can anyone explain to me about the source linker on the FamilyTree app? Recently, I have noticed that sometimes it is the typical linker, but other times (usually for marriage records) it is totally different and a bit more confusing. Are we going to be switching over to the new interface or is it just a special marriage record interface (I hope its not going to be all records because its just not as clear to navigate).
Do you like the new marriage source linker? How do you prefer it over the old interface?
I have a hard time with the new look when it’s a new spouse and I want to look through my FamilyTree record to make sure they’re not already there. The old interface is easy to change the main individual and toggle through a lot of info. The new interface has the info, but it doesnt always line up as nicely since it is in list form.
Also, when adding a new person, it is a bit confusing to me when the first screen comes up with relatives names (similar to how Ancestry does things) to make sure it is not a duplicate. I dont want FamilyTree to turn into Ancestry 😡
I will say the best part of the new source linker is the ability to edit dates/places. That is a wonderful ability!

Thanks for sharing this. I hadn't seen it before. Maybe someone from FamilySerarch will comment on it.

Well, looks like its been added for marriage records and censuses. I’m a bit disappointed because there are numerous examples in a census record when I need to navigate through a family tree - in-laws, uncles, cousins, etc and this is not friendly to match up those relationships. I have to hope the possible relatives list is accurate since all it really says is a name and birthdate. Hopefully the more I use it, the more I’ll figure it out.

Myself, along with others I have talked to have found the new Source Linker confusing and not as complete as the older one even though we have tried to use it and learn it. I have made a list of suggestions and problems I have found with it to send in for feedback, but haven't sent it in yet.
