I have found what appear to be two death records for Sophia Deblanc, daughter of Judocus and Catheri
(no. 15). The second is 4 Dec 1867 in Waregem and is located here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-66YY-V9?i=507&cc=2139860&cat=166411 (No. 138). I would greatly appreciate translations of both records so I can figure out why the two different records. Many thanks! Meg

Translation of the first record https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S7WF-9HJR-H9?i=262&cc=2139860&cat=15:
In 1855, December 9 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon before us Ernest De Kerckhove, mayor civil servant of the municipality of Vijve St Eloij, Charles Louis Deblane, workman, 35 years old, son of the deceased and Francis Dewaele, field guard, 38 years old, neighbor but no relative of the deceased appeared, Both living here, who have told us that Sophia Deblanc, spinster, old 71, born and living here daughter of both deceased Judocus Deblanc and Catharina Coolpaert, widow of the late Ivo Polfliet, died today at 2 o'clock in the afternoon in her house in the Postelhoek district. Of which record was read out to the comrades, the first comrade declared not to be able to write as an uneducated person.
Translation of the second record: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-66YY-V9?i=507&cc=2139860&cat=166411 (No. 138)
In 1867, 14 December, 10 o'clock in the morning, Leo Wufaux, alderman delegate official of the civil registry of the municipality of Wareghem province West Flanders, composed for us Edmond Duraté, 44 years old field sergeant and Leo Waeleur, 53 years old, writer, neighbours no relatives of the deceased, both living in this municipality, which comparants have told us that Sophia Deblanck, 83 years old, born in Vijve st Eloij, living here, spinster, widow of Antonius Bauwens and of Ambrosius Van Heuverlick, daughter of the late Judocus De Blanck and the late Catharina Coolpaert, in this municipality died yesterday at 9 o'clock in the afternoon in the house located in the district Peteghem, Vichtestraat nbr 10 and the comrades have signed this present record with us after reading it.
Apparently the same person died at different times in different places, putting the birth year in both record to be 1784. Good luck in your research as this is very odd. I would try to find marriage records to identify which death record is correct???

On MyHeritage, there's a Sophia Deblanck, born on 12 August 1784 in St. Eloois Vijve, married to Ambrosius Vanheuverbeke on 3 March 1825 in Waregem. Another place to look are baptismal records--maybe these are sisters, born soon after each other? (Since the death records are listing the age rather than the birth date, it can easily be off by a couple of years.)

Thank you so much, it is a mystery. I have her baptismal record from Sint-Eloois- Vijve, dated 12 aug 1784 and her marriage to Jean Antoine Bauwens dated 13 May 1812 in Waregem. I will pursue the other two marriage records and probably those husbands' death records. Hopefully they will help unravel the mystery. Meg

Possibly twins.
The first says 9 dec 1855 (death) aged 71 , born St Eloois Vijve , so 1855-71 = 1784
This one was the widow of Ivo Polfliet.
The second says 4 dec 1867 (death) aged 83 , born St Eloois Vijve, so 1867-83 =1784
The second was married two times, with Antonius Bauwens and Ambrosius Van Haverbeke
Both died before her.widowed two times
There is 12 years of difference between two deaths. The parents are the same in both instances

One could also consider the possibility of Irish twins, two births in the same year...

Okay folks, I appreciate all the suggestions. I have looked at all three marriage records. The first marriage was Jean Antoine Bauwens in 1812. He died in 1824 and is referenced both in the 1867 death and in the record for her second marriage to Ambrosias Vanheuverbeke in 1825. Ambrosias died in 1830 and is also referenced in the 1867 death. The third marriage was to Ivo Polfliet in 1831 and he is the only spouse referenced in the 1855 death record for Sophia. Sophia was born 12 Aug 1784, with a brother Petrus born in 1784 and a sister Constantia Barbara born in 1786. I have found six children from the three marriages so my next step is to look at their marriage and/or death records in hope of some revelation. I welcome any other suggestions. Meg

Interesting. Do the marriage records list the parents' names, too, and are they the same in all three marriage records? Or is there any indication that one Sophia might've been born elsewhere? Could you post links to the marriage records here for us to look at too?

Here are the links to the three marriage records: Bauwens - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:SQWX-RHXF-9?i=139&cc=2139860&cat=166411 (acte 197); Vanheuverbeke - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S7WF-97NT-H9?i=401&cc=2139860 (acte 160); and Polfliet - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S7WF-99WY-59?i=250&cc=2139860 (acte 46).

The third link, the one with the Polfliet marriage and Sophia Deblanck shows the sting,
the father of (this) Sophia is named as Ignatius, followed by 'afwezig' (meaning not present)
In the first links Judocus and Colpaert are the parents.

However, in the death record dated 9 Dec 1855 in Sint-Eloois-Vijve, she is listed as the daughter of Judocus and Colpaert and wife of Polfliet. That record is here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S7WF-9HJR-H9?i=262&cc=2139860&cat=158571

The name of the mother is Maria Regina van Hee, in the third link /akte 46
Could you find Ignatius?
The deed also mentions that Sophia had no idea about her fathers last place of living or his whereabouts..if i have time i will translate it this evening.

I do have an Ignatius Deblanc married to Maria Regina Vanhee but no birth record for Sophia. Ignatius is her uncle. I found a baptism record for Sophia daughter of Ignatius and Maria Regina dated 29 Nov 1788 in Sint-Eloois-Vijve. Thanks for your help. That still doesn't explain the discrepancy in the death record but it's possible that there was no one living to differentiate between to two. Meg

Anyway, this is the Polfliet/ Sophia marriage, my best guess is that this is the correct one and you can pick the correct other....(pun intended)
I apologise for the raw/txt raw layout, time issus.

To say the least, a rather puzzling case at hand.If you like to have a translate of the 1788 baptism, just launch the link, its raining heavy here
after a massive heat wave. we are at sea level here, and the air pressure in combination with the heat is terrible.
