Questions regarding 1)definition of medical term and 2) likelihood of spelling variation
The Swedish Historical Dictionary gives the definition of Qvaf (Qwaf) as to miscarry/to fall or parsiness/suffocation. It was used on a male's death record (below) so it was not to miscarry. But what does the second definition (suffocation) indicate... is it murder, suicide, a breathing issue?
The decedent above was indexed and identified in a few records as Nils Jonsson. In the birth record below he was indexed as Nils, son of Johan. My understanding is Jon and Johan could be the same person, and I think the writing of the name looks the same. Is it fair to assume it's the same person (other attributes do fit)?

All the definitions for "qwaf", also spelled "kvav" indicate "suffocation" or "shortness of breath"-something along those lines. I suppose it could even be asthma.
For names which are interchangeable, refer to this article in the FS Wiki: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Sweden_Names,_Personal especially the section on Interchangeable First Names. If everything else matches, it is probably the same person. The spelling of a name often depended on who was writing the record. If he thought it Jön should be Johan, that's what it became.
