Can someone please look at these requests re Crewe, Cheshire, England?
Apologies for raising this yet again, but can someone please look at my requests in this Community for fixing the 3 places in Cheshire, England that have names that are variants of "Crewe"? The 3 requests are
https://community.familysearch.org/s/topic/0TO3A000000EcUvWAK/crewe-by-farndon?language=en_US
https://community.familysearch.org/s/topic/0TO3A000000EcV5WAK/crewe-green?language=en_US
https://community.familysearch.org/s/topic/0TO3A000000EdnrWAC/crewe?language=en_US
The Crewe by Farndon request is essentially just about the background information, which is wholly incorrect for this entry as it refers to a town on the other side of the county.
The Crewe Green request is similar, though in this case the confusion is between two adjacent places - Crewe Green and Crewe.
The Crewe request is the more important as currently Historical Records are being indexed incorrectly. If you look at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:C6VN-J92M you will see that the "Event Place (Original)" has come out of the indexing project as "St Paul, Crewe, Cheshire, England". This is correct. However, the automatic(?) process to assign "Event Place" has mapped the St. Paul's place-name to "Crewe by Farndon, Cheshire, England, United Kingdom" - this is incorrect (and is the other side of the county).
I believe that this is because in 1936 (the date of the index record) "St Paul, Crewe, Cheshire, England" is a better match for "Crewe by Farndon, Cheshire, England, United Kingdom" than it is for "Borough of Crewe, Cheshire, England, United Kingdom". I am therefore (in summary) asking for the removal of the "Borough of" phrase - it is wholly inconsistent with all other place-names, it is never found in genealogical sources and it's messing up the "Event Place" values.
If I'm wrong with these ideas - please tell me.
