I have done all the research i think i can do using all of the online sources for my genealogy. however, i have a couple of relatives that have 'some' information but not the birth dates. help.
From what i have seen, they were born in Worcester Massachusetts around 1790 and 1821. were there records missing during this time period? Will i need to put 'boots on the ground' to find specific records?
Thanks,
Ray B.

Though they were keeping vital records in Massachusetts early on, the records are incomplete. I have seen estimates that as many as 30% of the population were not included. So you'll need to try other record sources such as church records, marriage records, death records, probate records, newspapers, old town and county histories, land deeds, etc. This site will lead you to various sources out there: https://ldsgenealogy.com/MA/

Just helping someone in that county today, and yes, there seem to be some gaps. Also check the familysearch wiki and county/town historical societies when they open back up.

I am just adding the Wiki Link: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Worcester_County,_Massachusetts_Genealogy
Did you know that you can just google FamilySearch Wiki and then the name of the location and pull up excellent resources for an area? You can also edit the Wiki to add new information. FamilySearch works with a lot of volunteers from all over the world. We are thankful for the many volunteers that add information and share their knowledge. Volunteers help make the FamilySearch Community a great resource too. Please know that all of you are encouraged to help answer questions and share information. We need each of you to share your areas of knowledge. You don't have to be an expert to know something that will help other people. Please share!
