I believe my great grandfather's parents were Mendel Leib Rabbach and Hannah Myers both born approx. 1840 in Hungary. I also believe that my great grandmother's parents were David Weiss born 1843 and Regina Wald born 1847. David Weis was the son of Sam Weis born 1825 and Dora Gross born 1828.

They were Jewish. I will see if I can find which cities some of them lived in. Based on what you told me it may be easier to find the records of Mendel Rabbach and Hannah Myers Brown's birth certificates than the previous generation. Could the churches in those cities have kept records of their ancestors?

My answer maybe yes but not necessary because many records here on FS and even more Jewish churches were closed because of you know . . . I would begin my research from immigration papers. Maybe it contains from which city they went to US.
BR Tamas later if you find something I will help you to translate.

Thank you so much for all your help.
Was Krems ever considered part of Hungary? It seemed to be what grandpa described as a matter of pride that his dad said where he was from. Great grandpa passed in 1917

Also are you refering to the Weiss family only?
Are the Rabbachs from the same city?

Krems has always been part of Austria.
You can read about Austria-Hungary here:

About Weiss I'm not familiar with Austrian genealogy but you can find info here
https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Austria_Jewish_Records
https://www.jewishgen.org/austriaczech/ausguide.htm
https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/AustriaCzech/
And I can not find any Jewish church records among Krems records. I think they were recorded in other place.
About Rabbachs, without immigration paper (info about place of origin or residence) I can not do anything.
But Rabbach more Austrian name than Hungary

According to the 1900 US census (linked), Joseph Rabbach came to the US in 1886 and was not yet naturalized by 1900. In that census, he is listed as being born in July 1867 in Russia. In the 1905 New York census (linked), he's still listed as an alien, this time with the birth country of Austria. In the 1910 US census (linked), he is listed as having immigrated in 1888 and as naturalized. If these are correct, then he must have applied for and received citizenship between 1905 and 1910. The petition for US naturalization is a good place to look for a hometown, so I suggest searching for the petition.
I found a picture of Joseph Rabbach's gravestone (linked), which states he died on 16 Sep 1917 at age 50, which fits with his July 1867 birth date. I also found his wife Sophie Weiss Rabbach's gravestone (linked), who died on 18 Jan 1928 at age 60; they were born buried in Mount Zion Cemetery in Maspeth, Queens, New York.

I think 1905 census is more true than 1900 (I can't see 1905). Based on this Joseph come from Austria Sophie from Hungary.

Thank you very much for suggesting immigration records between 1905 and 1910.
I noticed in the 1910 census that my great grandfather is listed as from Austria and that great grandmother is listed as from Hungary.
According to my uncle Steve who is now 90 said his father ( my grandfather Moses Luis Rabbach 1904 - 1967) told him that his father always insisted he was born in Hungary. As for the Russian answer on the census, my family is of the opinion that my great grandparents lived in a Boarding House for some time, and that all the occupants were listed as coming from the same country in that particular dwelling.
I posted the photos of my great grandparents gravestones to my descendants group page on social media.
