Good morning Shirley. The Family Tree App is for any mobile device which includes phones and tablets. What I like about it is that you can do almost everything you can do on it. However, you do need to be on a computer to Index. There use to be a way you could index on your phone, but that is not available for now. I have a few videos that show different features of the Mobile App if you need them.

https://youtu.be/IkeYC5SQyQo - Family History Activities - this is so great to be able to access right from your phone.
I also have these available in a format that can be used at church.
Let me know how your training goes. My husband and I are starting to work with a YSA ward.

The (Computer) "Web" version of "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" is for doing the REAL "Quality" work.
.
Whereas, the "Mobile" Application version of of "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" is really ONLY for use as "Show and Tell", certainly NOT for doing the REAL work.
.
No one would seriously want to do "Indexing" on a "Mobile" Device, not really even a "Table".
.
Doing the real work in, both, "Family Tree"; and, "Indexing", of "FamilySearch" is about doing QUALITY work; and, NOT, "Quantity".
.
The aforementioned is what SHOULD be stressed to the "Missionaries" that you are training.
.
QUALITY over "Quantity" - that is the key.
.
The "Mobile" Application version of of "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" engenders PARTICIPATION; but, the REAL work should only really be done on a Computer using the "Web" version of "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" - that is, it one is SERIOUS.
.
Just my thoughts.
