Can someone please help translate this birth record?
Record 99. I can understand some of it, but I am looking for the details that will give us clues to help us trace this family.
Specific questions:
Is Conrad Donant specified as the father of the child? He is a soldier, what is the other information listed after that? Is Neckars-Ulm the same as Neckarsulm?
The mother is a daughter of a soldier. What is the military information about her father too? It looks like the mother and her father are from Ulm?
Any and all details might help us identify them closer.
Thank you so much!

Place and date of baptism: Thursday 16 Sep in the church
Who baptized: Hermann

Comments:
There is no specific information about the military affiliation of the mother's father. He may have deceased already. The mother is "from here", i.e. from the place/parish of the church book.
Neckars-Ulm = Neckarsulm.

Dear Ulrich,
Thank you so much!
Do you think the number after the place of birth might be the family register book number? Or do you happen to know what the significance of that number might be? Usually the family register book and page number are in the far right column, but the other numbers really remind me of that. I am trying to learn how to find these family register books and have found some, but not all that I look for.
If you or anyone else has ideas or information on this I would love some help.
Thank you again!

Another question: Under Walburga's name are squiggly marks that I am not familiar with, but I see on this record in more than one place. Does anyone know what those marks mean?

Hi Jen,
I have to correct myself: the name as written is Walpurga, the older form of Walburga. The squiggle is part of the letter "p"; compare to the "p" in "4ter Compag." in the center column.
I am not fully sure what the number after "Seelengraben" refers to. It may be a house number; "Seelengraben" is a street name that still exists today in Ulm.

Since the father was a soldier, you might want to check if there are military church records for Ulm. The birth might have been recorded in both places.
