Translation Request: I am asking for your help in finding a Birth Record and translating it.
I am trying to document that Fryderyk Wilhelm Elgert, by finding Fryderyk’s Birth Record, is Adam Elgert Sr’s father (1879-1973; Adam’s Birth Record indicates Fryderyk was his father; side note, he also was my grandfather).
Fryderyk Elgert’s birthdate and place is: 1846; Neustadt Thorn, Thorn, West Preussen (West Prussia), Deutschland (Germany), Poland. I am trying to located Fryderyk Birth Record (downloadable); I believe I have gotten to the correct place, i.e., Kirchenbuch, 1605-1944, Evangelische Kirche Neustadt Thorn (KrSt. Thorn); “A camera icon indicates items that are digitally available online,” yet they are not accessible to me! Furthermore, I need it to be translate from German or Polish into English to be able to read the information. Thank you in advance for your help.
Sincerely,

Hello Eppich Maria,
Thank you so much for your rapid reply!
I guess what surprised me the most is how the information is presented; quite a different format, when compared to the typical birth, marriage, and death records associated with Germans living in Poland / Russia Poland. (In fact, shortly I plan to submit Friedrich’s wife’s Aldofina Jops/Japs Birth Record, which I have, for translation.)
Using familysearch.org, how/where to place “Friedrich Wilhelm Elgert” to find his birth record? Am I missing something? Because I have looked at the information you provided in your answer.
THANK YOU for answering my question!
Sincerely,

I do not speak or write German. You were fortunate that I came across this record which seems to answer your question. If you have other records in German to be translated, you may contact people in German Community.
