Searching for marriage records
I have been searching without success for marriage records of great great grandparents who lived in Kuzie /Lomza Poland. Born abut 1850 and married earlier than 1882.
Names were Adolph Nalewajek and Tekla Nalewajek (? family name)
And Frank Wysocki and Rose Wysocki (? family name)
Great great grand parents (lived in Lomza / Kuzie Poland), Catholic.
Need marriage records for the great grand parents. Married 1882 or earlier. Links to record files are found in familysearch.org for Lomza, Lomza county, and Nowogrod parish. I have spent much time reviewing these records without success. Some are in Russian and I am not able to read them.
Their children (great grand parents) immigrated to the U.S. in 1899): Adolph August Nalewajek, born Kuzie (Lomza county), Poland, 4 May 1882 but birth record not found and Marianna Wysocka, born 1883 or 1884, Lomza (near Kuzie), Poland, birth record not found. I have Adolph / Marianna U.S. marriage record (1901) and other records for them.
Any guidance on finding the marriage records would be much appreciated.

A few clarifying questions: Do you know what religion both families were? You also mentioned "Kuzie/Łomża" - is that meant to say either Kuzie or Łomża, or more to say the Kuzie near Łomża? Also, does Kuzie apply to both the Nalewajek and the Wysocki families?
I did a few quick searches under the assumption of them being catholic and I checked both the 1930 and 1877 gazetteers which told me I that in 1930 the catholic residents of Kuzie would have attended the Kuzie parish, but in 1877 (when your family lived there) they would have attended the Nowogród parish.
The Nowogród parish on the Geneteka database unfortunately has a gap in births, marriages, and deaths between 1870-1890. You could still try looking for the births of the parents, however, without the mothers' maiden names you will only be able to search for the fathers - Adolph (Adolf in Polish) Nalewajek and Frank (Franciszek in Polish) Wysocki.

I also tried searching for both families on the database Genpod, but I didn't find anyone. Again, you could try searching here for the same fathers as mentioned above.
I tried looking on Metry.Genbaza which has some records from the Łomża State Archives, but there were none for the Nowogród parish.
The Polish State Archives, SzukajwArchiwach, did have some records for the Nowogród parish, but the earliest records start in 1890.
Looking at FamilySearch at the Nowogród parish records they are for the right location (Kuzie), but the latest records FamilySearch has are in 1880. I checked the marriages for 1880 and I didn't find either couple; if you think it's possible they were married before 1880 I can keep checking, but if you think that both Adolph August Nalewajek and Marianna Wysocka are the oldest children born to both couples, then it's likely their parents' marriages occurred after 1880.
Next steps:
- You can try contacting the Nowogród and Kuzie parishes to see if they still have Parish records or if they know in which Church or State Archive the records would be held. Here is the contact information for the Nowogród parish and the Kuzie parish.
- Unfortunately, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Łomża Archive will only provide information over the phone (rather than via email or letter). However, on the FBPGG (scroll about halfway down to the Łomża archive) they know that the Roman Catholic Łomża Archive has records for Nowogród from 1808-1870.
- Search in the years before 1880 in the Nowogród parish to try and locate the marriage.

Hello Katerina,
Thank you for your help with this. Much appreciated. Both families were Catholic and from Kuzie, although some records say Lomza. Possibly Lomza County. The earliest child to this couple was born in 1882, Adolph August Nalewajek. His wife, Marianna Wysocka was born 1883 or 1884 but I am not sure she was the oldest.
I have found the same record gaps between 1870 and 1890. I also looked for the records in Nowogrod parish up to 1880 with no success. I will attempt to contact the parishes.
Thanks again,
Joe
