I cannot quite make out this record. It is from 1800 in Vaabensted, Musse, Maribo, Denmark. I assume this is a death record but I do not know what the the unit is for the "1/4" (if it is 1/4). Also wondering what "Fordet" means. Any help is appreciated.

The first line is Latin: "eodem die = on the same day".
The second line is Danish: "Jordet Christen Basses Søn Lars 1/4 aar g(ammel) = buried Christen Basse's son Lars 1/4 year old".

Thanks. Interestingly, I cannot find the recording of the birth 3 months earlier. I'll look again.

The 1801 Census for Våbensted only has one man with the surname Basse. His given name is Christen and his wife is Karen Jørgensdatter and they have 2 children, Jørgen (b. abt 1797) and Abelone (b. abt 1800). I bring up his being the only Basse in the census to indicate that it is a rare name in the parish. That indexed census record is here: https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid1755500.
I was able to find the two children here (Jørgen):
and here (Abelone): .The only birth record between 1797 and 1801 showing a father surnamed Basse and mother named Karen Jørgensdatter is Henrik here (left page bottom entry):
. The father in this record is Niels Basse rather than Christen Basse, but given the rarity of the Basse surname, I wondered if it is possible that the record keeper made an error recording the father's name. The biggest problem is that there had to have been another error made for the child's name in the burial record-Lars rather than Henrik. This may solve the problem! Looking in the military rolls for Våbensted, there is a record of a Hindrich whose father is Christen Nielsen Basse. That record can be viewed here (left-hand page, bottom entry) :
. Hindrich's birth date is given as 23 September which is the same date in the above referenced birth record (proving that the birth record has the father's name wrong). The record also says Hindrich died in 1800. I think this record proves that the Lars in your death record is actually the Hindrich in the military record and Henrick in the birth record. If you are not familiar with the military records, the child's name is preceded by a number (239, in this case) and the father's name is written above. Wow! Interesting. I too wondered if there were record keeping errors. This is very helpful and I did not expect such a detailed response so thank you very much!!
Thanks on the military record info. I have not used that yet. After Hinrich's name in the link you provided, on the top of the next page it gives the name of Niels Pedersen, before #240. What name is that? I had previously found that Niels Basse was Niels Pedersen Basse. Niels Basse was the son of a Peder and father to Christen (and coincidentally a father to Christen's brother Henrich).
Lars' burial record said he was 1/4 years old when he died in Feb of 1800 which means he would have been born in late 1799. But there is no birth record for Lars in 1799 and there is no burial record for Hinrich in 1800. So, it looks like your theory is correct.
What a puzzle.
